ULEZ

There are hundreds of them going up all around the borough. It’ll be impossible to go anywhere without getting spotted.

It must be costing a fortune.

It’s the end of freedom if we let it happen.

im sure there’s a few on here that are all for it, but me personally, nah, ain’t no good gonna come from this shit..

Cleaner air is wrong?
Hackney with everything in life there has to be compromise. Round here and in many other boroughs people are proper skint and just can’t afford to change their cars, or to pay the charge. Not all but enough of them.

It’s a racket just to make money. If you believe it’s actually for people’s health, you’re living in cloud cuckoo land.

Daggers...is it designed to fuel the motor industry, or are people too skint to change their car? Seems contradictory.

Anyway, I foresee an avalanche of lawsuits against local governments for failing to control air quality (as they are legally obliged to do) leading to child hood breathing issues. That'll cost the 'money making racket' far more than it takes in the short term.

Estimated 4000 deaths per year in London due to poor air quality.
That poor air quality is partially due to car emissions.
Cost to health service between £1.4 and £3.67 billion. Obviously not an exact science.
One third of London schools are close to roads that suffer illegal levels of air pollution.

ULEZ and 15 minute cities are the way forward.
A 15 minute city does NOT mean you’re not allowed outside the 15 minute boundary (which won’t exist in real terms) with your car.

The air quality in London is ranked as good. London is 96 on the air quality and pollution ranking.

4000 deaths according to the same website.

So you’d best campaigning for an ULEZ. 😏
I thought you’d be against this tax on the poor. Allowing the rich to pay to drive wherever they want while limiting poor working class families to either no or limited private transport movement. doesn’t seem very fair to me.

It’s because he CAN’T drive. Leftie jealousy raises its ugly head again.

It’s been implemented inside London for ages, so much better now I don’t get caught next to buses spewing out exhaust fumes.
I thought you’d be all for cleaner air,

Missing the point again, that you are punishing the poorest with your air tax.
But everyone is healthier.
How long would you allow cars with appalling emissions on the roads for?
Sooner or later they’ll ban everything but electric vehicles, will you be moaning on chat pages and posting aggressive tweets from others whilst doing nowt about it yourself? Again.

Things have to change or we’ll all fry.

Yes let’s go back to the good old days before all this health and safety nonsense when men were real
men and never moaned about having lead poisoning, rickets or coughing their lungs up whilst swimming in turd infested waters. It was great, we worked 80 hour weeks and died 2 days after retiring.
Bring back the pea soupers I say!
