Update on Micky.

Hi All, Mickys daughter Carly here. I thought I would update you all on what's going on. As most of you know he was took back into hospital last week with covid and pneumonia and we got a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia. I wont go into all of the details about whats happened and how we got to where we are now, but unfortunately he's been declining each day and took a turn for the worse early hours Thursday morning and has made no improvement and declined even more overnight. Sadly the Dr's are in agreement that there is nothing more they can do for him, so he is in palliative care now. I'm so very sorry to have to tell you all this, we were hoping for a bit longer with him. But I am going now to see him and will read out your messages as and when they come through as I know Bentleys Roof has a massive place in his heart. I will update you as and when I can.
Thankyou all for your love and support. Much love, Carly. 💙
I'm beyond words at how awful this all is. Here's hoping that love conquers everything and you go on Micky.

This is so sad to hear. Like many, I never met your dad in person but knew him through the roof and via emails etc.
sending love to you and all your family and just want to reaffirm the many messages of love and respect that we all have for your dad.
remember the great times and smile. The love of many is the greatest achievement of any man 💙

Carly, I am so, so sorry to hear about your dad. I never met Micky but had a few email exchanges with him helping to get tickets for friends. He is respected and admired by us all. His efforts for The Roof are appreciated and will be remembered by every Roofer.
The Hoss has a place in all our hearts.
Stay strong.

Such sad news for someone who is loved and liked so much. Never met you Micky but through the roof, I feel like I’ve known you for ages. Thank you for everything that you have done for us. Thoughts and prayers with your family.

'Heading off to the big Kop in the sky' - nice one, Topfox.

95 years ago today 23,000 people at Filbert Street were looking up at the sky as a sixth swan flew overhead. As portrayed in the Mercury at the time:

I've never met Micky, but hats off to a fellow Leicester history nut.

Just got off a plane from a week away to this news, so terribly sad.

Carly, your Dad reached out to me when I was managing in non-league football. He’s everything this lot on here have said and so much more. I’ll be forever grateful.

Thinking of you all and sending as many best wishes as I can muster.

I’m so sorry to read this news. My thoughts are with Micky and his family. I’ve never met him, but I did have some personal chats with him on here. Love his models and fellow interest in the history of our football club. Man’s a legend…

Such sad news. Like many others, I've never met Micky, but we had a few chats on here. A lovely man, and the glue that keeps us together here on Bentleys. My thoughts are with you all.

Such terribly sad news. Never met him but felt you got to know him a little bit through this board that was down to his efforts. Love and hugs to Micky and his family.

Can someone tell Micky to remember the ‘Weller’ night when we were two nil down to Liverpool. Or the night Walshy scored against Arsenal. You have never EVER lost until the final whistle goes. Stay in the game!
We were talking about the Weller night not so long ago, I think we actually agreed the finest display by any city player in my 60+ years.

Such sad news, he really is the heart and soul of this place.

Especially his dry sense of humour.

Everything crossed for you Micky.

I know Micky was a fan of Half man half biscuit and played electric drill on one of their records have you been in contact with them perhaps be nice if they sent him a message?
