Anyone like the NFL?

A friend of mine loves it. Though she is American, so perhaps it's understandable.

I've been forced to align myself with her team "New Orleans Saints" .
They're playing Chargers on Tuesday, once I find out what that means I'm up & running.

I joined a pool last year run by about 30 regulars in my local bar. The main season is only 17 weeks and most games are on Sunday, picks have to be in by 1.00pm Sunday, so its a regular meet up and drink with mates. I finished 2nd and the woman who won is from Blackburn. We had a lot of fun telling the Canadians how easy American football is to predict. Don't think I've ever watched a full game

I have been watching it for over 30 years, think it is great. No favourite team now, used to like the Oakland Raiders, but they have relocated twice and are now the Las Vegas Raiders. Too much like Franchise FC, really.

The Browns are completely fake, they are only doing well because of an easy schedule, like as if we played C*v or F*r*st every week. San Francisco have imploded, difficult to see beyond Mahomes and the Chiefs for Super Bowl LV .

The structure of NFL is attractive too, as the draft system and salary cap give all the teams a chance to be successful, they want games to be close to maintain high TV viewing figures. Good stuff.

Yep, been watching since the early 80s when I lived in Berlin. US Armed Forces TV had wall to wall College & NFL on from Thu to Tue morning.
We used to get teams over for pre-season matches. Got a season ticket when they started playing at Wembley/Twickers.
Always followed the Washington Red...... I mean, The Washington Football Team....

I used to love the weekly C4 round-up after the main game accompanied by the sound of 'classical gas'

I live in North America so it's on TV every weekend - I obviously see bits & pieces and highlight 'plays of the week', but have absolutely no interest, there's very little flow to the game, with "special teams"

When it's your turn to attack, they stop the game and let you put on a midfield and forwards, when you lost possession, they stop the game again, coach brings off all his forwards and sends on a bunch of defenders.

Followed the Vikings since 1982. Been to Minneapolis to see them twice. Played here for Wolverhampton and Birmingham 1999-2002. I like it and on the day our owner was killed two American fans of Leicester sat next to me at the KP. Both from Minneapolis and I remain in touch with the one.

I love it. Saddled to the Miami Dolphins since the mid 80's. I think it was the Aqua and white uniform (kit), Dan Marino and Miami Vice on the telly that sold me. Two decades of utter mediocrity have failed to kill my enthusiasm.
I looked up "Classical Gas". Splendid stuff. Heard it a thousand times and had no idea what it was called. Thanks Micky.

Followed the Packers since 1983 when they beat Joe Theismann’s Redskins 48 - 47

Saw a few games back in the 80s and 90s. Last game was Green Bay at San Diego, mid 90s.

'Cheesehead' fans in all the bars in the old town for most of the weekend, great fun and no animosity.

Would not give the NFL the time of day these days.

Another Bears fan. Spent summer of 83 working in Evanston, IL, so also a Cubs fan. NFL produces great highlights, but watching a full game live (been to Wembley a couple of times) is a weird, alienating experience with all the stoppages. Baseball in my view a much better game to watch live

Drawn into it by Mahomes last Superbowl. Incredibly gifted athlete. Good to listen to as well. YouTube had a wire on him all last Superbowl and it's a terrific listen/ watch.

Baseballs my thing ,Plastic Yankee here ive been to the Bronx a few times and saw them at Wet Spam last year 2 fantastic games against the Fenway dirty Red Sox...... "Let's go Yankees "...
