Oh dear, what a pity, never mind.
Chosen by an even smaller group of people than last time. They are saying that a new PM will be in place 'in days'.
Leadership process, members vote? Democratic process, no chance and they are not even the slightest bit coy about it.
And they do not care who knows it. A Coup D'état.
At least it’s not some tosser wearing red braces and shouting about exchange rates.I agree with you AFC.
Truss was "elected" by a small number of Tory members.
The next idiot will be selected by MPs.
An ever-decreasing electorate.
No mandate...
But only one party in charge of the carnage of the last 12 years. At least it’s not some tosser wearing red braces and shouting about exchange rates.
Both major parties should be ashamed of themselves they just keep asking the same question until they get the answer they want, a bit like Jimmy Crankie’s mother
More vague terms & names which sound like you know something more than others, but poorly masks that you voted for the Tories in 2019.Christ you lot.
You still don't get it. The final vestiges of (what was left of our) democracy are being swept aside, our leaders are being replaced by globalist placemen and you are fretting about local party politics!
You still think this is all down to the 'evil tories'. Wake up.
Tories got informed she was off to VillaShe's claiming she has resigned.
After a tap on the shoulder from Sir Graham Brady.
Now who do we get?
Well, while the takeover of society happens and our global masters pull the strings, I'd rather the puppets in pretend power at least give a shit about people on low to average incomes, the NHS, education, social care, etc rather than just thinking of ways to enrich their families and chums.Christ you lot.

You know what, given the shit show that is the current Labour Party, I would have to think about doing the same again.More vague terms & names which sound like you know something more than others, but poorly masks that you voted for the Tories in 2019.

More fool you in that case. Those supposed "globalist onslaught" (bingo card tick) opposers in the Tory party fully supported Johnson when he was PM. And you continuously voting for them simply exacerbates that. You know what, given the shit show that is the current Labour Party, I would have to think about doing the same again.

Do you mean that you think the Conservative Party membership should have a vote, or that there should be a General Election? (I realise that you may well consider either of these a façade or a fraud ...)They are saying that a new PM will be in place 'in days'.

Why bother you never see what's written anywayCan you flesh out your post a bit for me please? I'm interested to hear how any of the things that led to Truss's resignation are the fault/shame of any opposition party?
I didn't ask you what the constitution requires. I inferred from your comment that you consider the current selection process undemocratic, or insufficiently democratic, with reference to the alternatives including some involvement of the Conservative Party membership or General Election, and I asked which of those you favoured. This leaves open that your response may be that either of those would simply be part of whatever we are calling the globalist plan today (which at least has the virtue of not having to really think about it properly).Morning Steve.
I think meaningful elections are a thing of the past in this country, we are being absorbed into the globalist 'blob'. Our top officials are being replaced, not quite so blatantly as happened in Greece or Italy in the recent past, and by economic rather than political pressure but replaced all the same.
Also I believe it has become clear that in matters of general policy, Labour and Conservative are identical, pretty much Blairite (authoritarian) social democrats following the global line.
As far as your question goes, the constitution does not require a general election, it is up to the party to pick its leader according to their rules, if labour want a GE, they call a vote of confidence.
The main point of all this nonsense and the MSM coverage of it is to distract from the ongoing impoverishment of this country by the policies of all the parties and bring about it's collapse.
