You need to give your head a wobble.bought for 40 million, sold for nothing.
that is some bullshit contract management from the hierarchy and the player right there.
2 years of negotiations that result in him leaving for nothing.
As long as he avoided serious injury when getting close to the end of the contract it's cracking work by the player & his representatives. Will forego the otherwise obligatory "loyalty bonus" when moving but he & his reps will get a bumper pay day in signing on fees from his new employers & no negotiating with a selling club to worry about. And to be fair to the club I am not sure what more they can do if a player doesn't want to sign. I suspect his wages will not be much better anywhere else. The only leverage they really had was in the run up to the World Cup and dropping him unless he signed and they dare not do it.hat is some bullshit contract management from the hierarchy and the player right there.
Trouble is we'd still need someone to make a bid for him,it's been common knowledge that he was available for a knock down price for quite some time but despite all the rumours no offers, it's easy to say sell him but if nobody wants him and he won't sign a new contract what can you do?We should have listed him from 2 years out. The threat of not playing from that distance would be too great to ignore.
i think you might be misreading what i've written (or i've written it poorly which is quite probable). You need to give your head a wobble.
He'll be perfectly happy with his "contract management" when he sees his new monthly salary, reflecting the absence of a transfer fee.
The only thing he may be disappointed with is the continuing absence of CL football.
2 years out I think there would have been bids. In the last year interested parties will be encouraged by agents to wait.Trouble is we'd still need someone to make a bid for him,it's been common knowledge that he was available for a knock down price for quite some time but despite all the rumours no offers, it's easy to say sell him but if nobody wants him and he won't sign a new contract what can you do?
There may have been teams make offers but perhaps he didn’t want to join them. Didn’t he say something along the lines of ‘being happy I’ve decided to stay for the season’.Trouble is we'd still need someone to make a bid for him,it's been common knowledge that he was available for a knock down price for quite some time but despite all the rumours no offers, it's easy to say sell him but if nobody wants him and he won't sign a new contract what can you do?
Dont think he loved the club that much Hackney or else his latter displays would have seen more commitment than was actually offered, damn good player but lost a lot of goodwill in his last Season with indifferent displaysWell he’s a legend as far as I’m concerned, we won the FA Cup thanks to him and for that I’ll be eternally grateful.
Like most he’s been poor t hi s year but he clearly loved the club.
Thanks Youri
The efforts that Cambiasso put in whilst on the pitch gives you the insight of how poor Teilemans efforts were given the talents the lad possessed.Tielemans will be in the same catagory I hold Izzet and Cambiasso.
Maddison will be in the same one as Knockaert.
But surely Oadlad your Mental attitudes depend on your goodself he played as though he had a poor attitude to footballYou have to play your best player as he is on top money and paid to do that.
And a 75% YT is better than many even in the Prem.
To suggest that his shortcomings led to a whole team losing its will to win is not fair.
I think he lost faith in the team and club as did many others and no wonder.
This mental/attitude issue is what managers are supposed to be for and BR's poor handling
for the same reason was the root cause.
He turned up once a month, that is simply unacceptable for an elite player in any top league. You have to play your best player as he is on top money and paid to do that.
