I’m on my last year of a business study degree, well… when I say “I’m” it’s not quite true.
A Romanian friend enrolled to do it and didn’t understand it. So I told them to send me the assignments and I’ll do them. Piece of piss. Just use google. Not one of the assignments asks you to do any critical thinking, just regurgitate the bollocks they want to read. In fact the encourage it. Telling you base your answers on someone else’s theories.
And the stupids think they’re clever and so it goes on.

Totally agree Dickie boy .
Degree level is largely regurgitation . But teaches you to accredit your information and differentiate fact from speculation and prove your assertions with evidenced sources .
Beyond that you move more into originality and experimentation . Testing theses against accepted norms and, certainly in science disciplines , exploring possible anomolies or inconsistencies.l which occasionally lead to new discovery .
In the humanities it’s looking for new angles on ideas and exploring historical contexts which may change perceptions .

Educational achievement is no measure of intelligence necessarily . What it does teach you is to think critically and question what you are told . Not blindly accept the narratives from uncredited sources which fit your ( often mistaken) prejudices .

Do you really think it teaches you to think critically? That’s my issue. It actually tells you not to question what’s the accepted view.
Don’t forget at some point all credited views were uncredited.
Do you have the confidence in the government and or establishment that what you’re being told is the truth and nothing but it truth?
If you do then fair enough.
If not then you have to question everything. Leave no stone unturned.
Look at what they are not telling you as much as what they are telling you. Then, and only then can you draw your own conclusion.
I think that some of you dismiss uncomfortable truths.
That’s why we end up with Tory governments.

l didn't go to to school much past 13, so l didn't fail, it was nothing of interest for me. l could knock you into a hat with IQ scores but truthfully they mean nothing. You don't know the basis of life so talking about IQ and school are not even relevant.

So, again, with your tremendous amount of retained knowledge, what have you achieved that is better than the rest of us ?

Got a lot of good friends
Family doing okay and happy
Happily married for 20 + years
Reasonably well paid and enjoyable job in public service .
Rarely bored
Travel as much as time allows
Enjoy sport - playing( when knee allows ) and watching
Read a lot .
Generally healthy
