That was all down to Perez.A previous goal from the 'Wobbling Fatty'.
Lest ye forget!
A sentence I never thought I'd read. That was all down to Perez.
Apparently we paid £32 million for him, and Arsenal have allegedly offered £25 million. If last seasons anything to go by we will be lucky to get what we paid for him
Precisely.I think the body language he exudes these days and the lack of effort tells us his mind is elsewhere and he wants away.
And he's been like that all last season.
And when a player is like that its best for all concerned if he pisses off and we get a half decent fee.
And for me his behaviour last season has tarnished the memory of his Cup winning goal just a bit.
Do you people seriously not understand how players' values drop when they only have a year or 6 months left on their contracts? Really? Fuck me backwards.Apparently we paid £32 million for him, and Arsenal have allegedly offered £25 million.
Says it all really.
“Yikes”….”Crikey”….”Beasts”…..”Yaroooh” - Gerald Campion. So this isn’t a thread about Billy Bunter, the fat owl of the remove.
Exactly I think the board would rather get another year out of him and just wave him off, then take a loss on him. Thai Pride and all that.Arse think they can get him for £25m
Well I never realised that Youri lived in the same village as you. The thought of Youri chasing you through the streets of the Republic makes me understand that’s there’s more than just the original Quorn Hunt and thus depicting another innocent being chased by an infinitely younger pack!Surely it's in any player's interests who wants to play at a higher level to put themselves in the shop window by consistently performing well? For whatever reason Tielemans obviously hasn't done that this season, hence (as LG rightly says) the apparent absence of interest in him from any club involved in the CL. A move to Arsenal would be a sideways move at best. He's been a very good player for us but not a great one -unlike Mahrez, Kanté and Vardy for example.
I'd be happy for him to stay and I wouldn't be over surprised if he did, unless a surprise move came in from a CL-involved club materialised. He's always spoken about how happy he and his family have been here and why would anyone in their right mind want to move from the idyllic surroundings of The Republic?
As for being a 'wobbling fatty', he may not have blinding pace, but I can assure you our Youri is no such thing. I've seen him running round the village a number of times and he reminds me very much of me in my athletic pomp - ripped muscles and fit as fuck. The man brought us the other seemingly impossible dream that so many fans before us sadly did not get to see - that makes him an unadulterated legend for me.
unless someone has played so well there is a bidding war...ohDo you people seriously not understand how players' values drop when they only have a year or 6 months left on their contracts? Really? Fuck me backwards.
Even if that's the situation, the bidding war is still for far less than when there's 3 or 4 years remaining on the contract.unless someone has played so well there is a bidding war...oh
‘Throughout his career’? Tell your lad he’s talking bollocks! He played for 4 years at Anderlecht followed by 2 years at Monaco from where we signed him, initially on loan, in 2019.My lad, who knows more about me than these things, tells me this has been the patter throughout his career.
Two good seasons then 'head turned' and a season of poor performances before he moves on
it wouldn't be the first time, but i believe the pattern is there to be seen at both those clubs‘Throughout his career’? Tell your lad he’s talking bollocks! He played for 4 years at Anderlecht followed by 2 years at Monaco from where we signed him, initially on loan, in 2019.
I recall Puel saying that he'd 'lost his way' at Monaco, which was why we'd been able to sign him for the initial loan. And I recall reading at that time about him getting the move to Monaco in similar circumstances.‘Throughout his career’? Tell your lad he’s talking bollocks!
