You could argue we had a meteoric rise as well since 2014. Unfortunately, we couldn't sustain it and our rocket has floundered a bit as of late!
That said, what Union does is quite unbelievable really. I don't have a lot of insight there but they clearly know what they are doing and they seem to have a structure in place that can sustain change and growth at the same time!
Their president Dirk Zingler seems to be in charge since 2004. I believe he's very important for them, perhaps not so much in terms of money but strategy and identity of the club.
They also seem to be one of the fastest growing sports clubs in Germany, from about 4,000 members in 2006 to over 50,000 now! Not sure how they run AGMs these days.
