Mahrez

Did Vichai tell you that or did you read it in the Sun - the club has never admitted they said this, whereas this story fitted Mahrez‘s narrative perfectly - I wonder where it came from?
I thought it was widely known. The club would never admit that publically.

’Widely known’ - what a bollocks phrase - anything to back this up?
Maybe it was Mahrez and his manager (brother?) who put this story out, I know he kept bleating on about it until people like you believed it.
I know who I believed in this sorry tale.

Sitting low down in L1 gave me the opportunity to see Mahrez working his magic and whatever sort of person he is for me he’s the most gifted player I’ve ever seen for us by a long way.
Good luck to him, we’d never have won league without him, not a chance

Along with Vardy, the two biggest bargains in PL history. Of course, without him, we would never have won the PL. By the same token, whatever he achieves in his career - and there is no limit on that - he would never have achieved it without Leicester.

What reason had he got to make this up?

"Promised" this, "decent offer" that, in my opinion this is all bla bla!!

Such issues can be resolved fairly easily: you can ask for a release clause to be put into your contract!! In Mahrez' case, this obviously didn't happen, so him / his agent tried to force the issue by relating to something that might have been discussed (or not!!) during contract negotiations but that has evidently never been put on paper.

In the end, Mahrez got his wish but caused a lot of damage, both to the club and his reputation. He also complained he 'lost' two(?) years at the highest level. That might be true but that is to a large extent down to his attitude and frequent underperformance and sulking periods with us.

I believe he's now in the third year of a 5-year contract at Man City. Given his potential, he was comparatively poor during the first two years but this year things seem to really click for him. He's now 30 years old. We'll see what happens in two years when his contract runs out.

And to think some clowns still refer to him as ‘snivelling’.

More talent in one toe than Maddison has in his entire body. Games we’ve not had results at this season and last were exactly the ones Mahrez scored in the year we won the league.

If Mahrez critics think that a team can win big games with honest, hardworking pros like Albrighton and not have to accommodate all the nonsense Mahrez brings with him then you are better off supporting Burnley.
