For those voting in the Locals

Oh no, a disaster for Labour. What a day it was for the Tory election machine šŸ‘
Come on Soup, after how many years of this shit show of a government. From corruption to lying to blatant cronyism costing the tax payer billions you would think Labour being the main opposition would wipe the floor with the Tories.
Ball park figures
1000 seats lost for the Tories
500 seats gained by Labour

I think it's the first time I have bothered voting in the Council elections.
Decided to get off my arse because I am fucked off with the Liberal Democrats destroying the green belt areas in an alarming fashion where I live.
No matter how much you protest about the ever increasing housing projects, they railroad everything through. If they don't want to hear your voices then this is the only way to register your discontent.

I agree, but unless there's electoral reform nowt'll change. There's more chance of that if there's no landslide.

Do you have kids/Grandkids Brauny? If so then mass housebuilding is essential for their future and they have to be built somewhere. I'd agree that there needs to be a more equitable distribution but we are in this area victims of geography and the area's transport hub access.

Regenerate the rundown brownfield areas before butchering the greenbelt.
The annoying thing is they completely ignore people's concerns over building projects.
The infrastructure can't cope with any more development in my area.
When and not if the latest planning application is approved I would estimate they will have increased the population by approximately 30% within 5years. It's too much too fast and we are all supposed to accept it.
It's probably why the Greens have done very well in this election.

Agree again, the infrastructure in this country is now an afterthought with the bare minimum supplied. It's what you get when housing policy is determined by the market only.

Not sure there's anywhere near enough brownfield sites to satisfy demand. Our village has no brownfield area at all. The house opposite me was demolished to make way for five large houses that were crowbarred in. And don't get me started on the inferior, cheap quality of the new housing stock being thrown up now, both in terms of interior space but as important the lack of living space around the buildings themselves. Another victim of housing driven by the market.

Don't forget your/my house would've been opposed by many as too much development when they were built.

Not sure it's solely a Lib Dem thing either

We could build on a few golf courses as well.

That means 500 seats won by others too.
