Instinctively they claim for throw-ins etc when they know full well they touched the ball last, they simulate fouls and roll around pretending that they have a serious injury when there was no contact, they pull shirts etc etc

a kind interpretation would be gamesmanship

Granted, some are worse than others but I do think it's built into the DNA of pro footballers

Maradona's attempt was just more blatant
