County v Sussex

Afraid it is all falling apart. Thought at least a draw might be on the cards when they started today. Now staring at a loss after a collapse reminiscent of a couple of seasons ago.

I watched a fair bit of it yesterday and they didn't bowl as well as it sounds, o think 200 was a par score. Also why the fuck didn't they bat ?

Same shit as of last season and before Ahmed and asin also cox shit waste of 3places from 68for 2 too 108 all out utter wank

Making a better fist of it in the 2nd innings.
Set an extremely unlikely 499 to win.

Looked like folding again at 16 for 2.

Ended at 221 for 3.

Still looks a million miles away, but Ackerman ( century) and Amin ( half century) have shown some grit.

First hour tomorrow and a new ball impending, will probably put the flicker out.

Ah well, hey ho

Milder had mild flu and they kept him away from the team as a precaution, Salisbury took 5 wickets in the first innings but 3 of those were from leg stump half volleys, he bowls wicket taking balls but quite often a load of shite in between.

Tomorrow might well be a decent day down there. If we can somehow pull off an unlikely victory it’ll give us real confidence for the final and also for the remaining championship games.

It was as flat as a pancake last year down there and there were runs a plenty. Doubtful it's turned into that much of a road but who knows.

The new ball looks like being the killer blow.
Both batsmen out very quickly after an excellent partnership.

294 for 5.

Still 205 runs needed.

154 now needed with 4 wickets remaining. I’d say it was a very slim chance now of victory as we are getting down the order too.

You always sense that County are capable of folding quickly once a wicket goes.
It's been a decent 4th innings effort though, which makes County's 1st innings more lamentable. That poor showing looks like it's cost them more than just this game.

Yeah we’ll probably end up 100 light and that’s the minimum additional we should have got in the first innings.

I for one wouldn't have much enjoyed a season of getting hammered in Div 1. Not ready for it yet. Think of it as a Watford-type blessing in disguise. Let's win on Saturday instead.

Respectfully disagree. Chance might not come again for another 20 years. Not a believer in fearing progressive steps however far behind you might feel perception wise. If you get promoted you might be able to attract a few good players + it might be the making of some of the players you already have.
Logically what they have right now is nowhere near enough to compete in division one given the impending departures but I think it’s a missed opportunity even still.
Game of opinions and all that though 👍🏼
