If his choice is a rebuild job this summer with a Championship club that has recently been successful in the PL and has aspirations to return very soon, or an emergency repair job with a struggling PL team in November, I think he might actually prefer the former option.

I may be proved wrong, but I wouldn't bet on him really producing the goods anywhere.

If we are in the bargain basement then I would take Mowbray. We are better than that, we are very attractive, there won't be no shortage of managers throwing their hats in the ring. We need to make the right choice, or Top does.

to be fair to mowbray he did a miracle with sunderland this year. i think they had the youngest squad in the championship.
but i'd rather go with Carrick, i think he's a great manager in the making (not a steve bruce), not the finished article yet, but he could develop with us. i'd take him over JDT any day. middlesbrough played some good football with a very average squad.
