…….is the shortest tenure of any British Prime Minister. George Canning served under various previous Prime Ministers,including 2 occasions as Foreign Secretary, finally becoming Prime Minister himself and dying in office on his 119th day, April to August 1827.
He was wounded in the thigh when fighting a duel with Lord Castlereagh on Putney Heath in 1809.
He moved to Burbage for a short while due to the poor health of his eldest son who died of consumption in 1820. They lived at what is now the Constitutional Club in Burbage to be near the family doctor. Canning Street in Hinckley bears his name.

The Conservative Party is just a complete shambles. A joke. An embarrassment. Anything could happen and probably will.

The current performance of the tories in Westminster is so inept, so appalling, that I can only assume that they are trying to get themselves kicked out of government before the full extent of the destruction of this country becomes truly apparent.

However, this has little to do with the tories as such, all current parties would be doing the same thing, appeasing and pandering to the globalist agenda in all its forms. Everything from the Green energy, open borders, the response to covid, support for Ukraine and half a dozen others major issues are designed to break this country, destroy us completely and force us into the arms of globalist interests.

This is all scripted and has been the plan for around 20 years, the shock of Trump and the Brexit vote has caused an acceleration in the pace but agenda has been set the sides have been picked. We, ordinary people have lost, it is all over, done.

I have been pushing this line for a couple of years no though not so much recently.

To me it is one of those situations where, once you 'see' what is happening it all becomes obvious, it is a global transformation into the ultimate fascist state in which ordinary people become disposable serfs.

The scope of the change is huge, so it will take some time. The once free and democratic (after a fashion) western states will offer the most resistance, so they are being dealt with first.

Tactics will vary, but the strategic aim is the same, the economic, legal and social fabric will be broken up leading to a reliance on the state for even the most basic of needs. In some cases it is driven by a certain kind of head of state, an ideologue if you will, in others it is financial or media driven. All working to the same end.

The shear scale of the coup is what makes it so heard to believe.

Marxism and fascism are fundamentally the same.

Totalitarian unitary states, integrating government, financiers, corporatists and social policy in an authoritarian manner to control the people. If there is any underlying political ideology it matters not if it is left or right, that is irrelevant.

Early fascist states were somewhat nationalist in nature, the state being built now is global in scale, control will be rather more subtle than the physical violence of the early and middle years of the 20th century but much more devastating.

As I said, thinking about this in left/right terms totally misses the point.

The repression has already started but so far it is 'soft'.

Non-stop propaganda, no alternative views allowed, 'gaslighting' and 'cancelling' for anyone with alternative views, imprisonment for 'hate speech' should they get uppity. Mobilising the 'masses' into turning against people who resist the narrative, etc, etc. Many are already cowed into obedience and it will get worse.

Nothing will happen of course, it will take lockdowns and curfews, food shortages, energy restrictions and power cuts, un-sustainable cost of living increases to energise the masses but by then the globalists will be in total control.

I wish I had been sharp enough to see this coming as he did. I simply could not get my head around how the naked force applied during the first half of the 20th century could be applied in the 21st.

That has only really become apparent in the last few years.

I know you are trying to take the piss, but during the height of the covid project we came close to turning the whole country into one great internment camp. No foreign travel, local travel requiring permission, checks by the police if you were out and about, access to bars and restaurants restricted, banned from seeing your family, all seemingly acceptable to a very large section of the community.

You think those kind of restrictions are over? Think again.

In reality, when I supported and voted for Brexit it was in the full appreciation that in the short term, possibly longer, I/we might well be poorer.

I considered that the benefits of getting out of the schlerotic EU and re asserting our identity as a sovereign, independent country making our own way in the world would be worth it. Sadly we were never allowed to find out.

I am too old and infirm to do other than warn others of what the future holds, just don't blame me when the shitshow that is undoubtably coming hits you right in the teeth.
