Wimmin’s World Cup

the WNBA has been going for twenty five years now and still loses around ten million dollars a year subsidised by the mens game,
The women's game over here (usa) went bust once before because they ran before they could walk after a WC.
when starting a new league/franchise you have to have revenue pumped in and allow for losses for a number of years that's what football associations are for at the local, regional and national level.
That's how the MLS got started and now flourishes after many false dawns in the USA going back 50 years.

I just wish the media would be clear about which of men’s/women’s football they are talking about or are going to talk about. Headlines in papers and adverts on television just refer to “Arsenal” or “England” when they mean the women’s teams and I resent wasting time reading or watching until realising what it’s about. They should also stop comparing achievements in the two games like winning the Euros and breaking scoring records.
They usually are clear - England is now either England Men’s or England Women’s for example.

And on TV, it’s usually accompanied by an appropriate pic, e.g. Southgate or Wiegman.

Some women like to play football, I've no problem with that. It’s been the same for decades except it’s a bit more acceptable now.

With all this exposure more may want to get into playing the game, the game will get better which may bring more success to the national side and the cycle starts again.

There’s nothing at all bad about it that I can see. It’s just not my thing, although to be fair I haven’t seen many games.

I try not to watch too much TV either so I’m unlikely to plonk myself on the sofa and watch one, and I don’t see much of the so called ram it down your throat advertising.

Love this wimmins stuff.
Ingerland Ingerland Ingerland.
Lauren James seems on a different level both ability and physicality wise to the rest of em.

Now we're talking.
the france v brazil game was a belter, and Sverige wiped the floor with the Italians.

I must've picked the wrong games.
Watched 4 of them so far, each 1 goal or less, very little goalmouth action, not much quality on display, and plenty of rolling around and dodgy reffing.
Could just as easily have been the men's world cup.
Like watching city last season?
