For me he was never getting CL football, if he doesn’t play regularly his form drops off a cliff, he’s never been a consistent player so would have been rotated/dropped by CL sides. It’s the reason we managed to get a payer of his quality, he couldn’t do it consistently at Monaco.

He has often mentioned how important it was for him to settle and to be settled, also with regards to his children. With that background it makes sense to join a club that is fairly close to where he lives. Maybe there were other options on the table, I don't know, but if there weren't any other options in England, it's a move that could make sense.

In hindsight it would have been better for him and us if he'd left two years ago. Hindsight is a great thing though!

It makes me laugh people were moaning two or three years ago that we should've reached the Champions league twice. I was quite happy with 5th. We start 23/24 season in the Championship doesn't that alarm anyone at our decline? I find it embarrassing and it's too easy to blame Rodgers.I think we've tried to compete with the so called "elite' Premier league teams in terms of players and wages and failed after all we are little ol Leicester.
