The A-Z Greatest Player Poll - Letter W

A few absolute legends in that lot.
Wally, Wortho, and Walshy. Did anyone give more to a football club than Walshy ?
Not of the greatest talent, but never left anything on the pitch. A true warrior and always committed to the cause.
Wallington was my childhood, I think he had been in goal for us for about 60 years hadn't he.......
For all these great Leicester icons, there can only be one though.
1975 against Liverpool. My first game, and an introduction to a life of stress, highs and lows, joy and despair, and a love affair that still burns brightly 46 years later. The man that started it all, the man that ignited an unquenchable passion, Keith Weller. A true Leicester legend, and sadly and tragically gone too soon.
If Keith looks down on us today, I hope he knows that after over 130 years of our clubs history, he rightfully takes his place amongst the finest of them
Weller for me as well ! great player privileged to have watched him score that goal at Luton (1974) and that volley from the corner against Newcastle (1975) absolute Class

Frankie wortho, great player great fun on of those players once seen never forgotten, but Keith Weller, brilliant footballer always remember that 2nd goal of the 3 against the Scouse, and Luton incredible. Then his turn of skill and speed a joy to watch.
Steve Walsh gets it for me, that amazing leap at Wembley against Swindon, the arsenal header, fought for the club, ask Steve bull, and that crunching tackle against palace that brought the loudest "ooooo" I have heard from a crowd. Goals scored goals defended Steve Walsh it is.

The Arsenal equaliser... the header, the celebration and the afters (that have been edited out of the footage on YouTube) where Walsh could be seen mouthing ‘Do you want some?’ to a couple of the Arsenal players that had been surrounding the ref.

It was Ian Wright mostly who ran all the way off the bench to confront him. He took one look at Walsh and ran!

Weller the finest player to wear the shirt IMO, I guess it's an age thing that made the difference between him and Walshy both true legends within our club ,but when his time comes I believe Jamie vardy will emulate both these legends.
