Stadium expansion

Precisely.
Whether a second nearby will do as well, who knows.
But it'll have almost fuck all to do with our games, any more than the other hotels in the city rely on football for their success..

The one by the tigers ground probably has a lot of rugger fans staying whether there are games on or not?
Perhaps the same could apply to ours?
Don’t our owners now own a few hotels, I think they know their market. Hopefully

All we can hope is that the Club had meaningful dialogue with UK hotel operators to make sure what was included in the PA is what they are prepared to take on in that part of Leicester. My understanding is that the KP hotels in Thailand are similarly licensed to local operators, but I may well be wrong. But I'd hope that KP aren't taking sole development risk for a hotel building, especially if they put Rudkin in charge of that venture too... ;)
Whilst there might be a limited novelty factor of football fans having some interest in staying in a hotel that's next to our ground, you don't have to contemplate that idea for very long before realising that it's not the bedrock of a business plan. And I doubt it'll have much of the locational appeal of the Rosebowl's Hilton (or whatever it is) that sustains that sport-grounded location....

What’s interesting is that since the video and initial outline plans, we now own the Eon building which gives us more space to develop. The video has the Eon building still there.

I’m really interested to see updated plans and firm timescales for the various projects.

You have made some good points there. The ground and surrounding area will need to take on a more 24/7 approach with venues and extra stadium events. Using the hotel just to supply accommodation on a fortnightly basis with the odd occasional local event, can't succeed. I wonder if Top has plans to incorporate it solely as part of his international travel business?

Take years for this to get off the ground Almost eight years since it was mentioned after the title win
Spurs and Everton will have built new stadiums in this time
Look at the company balance sheet where is the money coming from we are already borrowing against
future TV money
With the current state of interest rates this is on the back burner if we get promoted we will need every
penny to spend on the pitch
This is back to the Filbo days when the pop side was going to be developed , can’t remember when it happened 😀

This is different. We are privately owned. The business is worth x amount of money. Expand the stadium and the business will be worth y which will be more because of the bigger stadium. Plus it’ll make us a much more attractive sale.

The owners may go out to look for additional investors.

The site of the hotel, the site of the flats, the site of the arena, with the with the planning permission may be sold to an external company to build. Probably not the hotel as that’s part of what King Power know well.

Pretty much every club that has expanded their stadium or built a new and bigger one fills the additional seats. Yes there is a ceiling but build it, make it reasonably affordable, allow fans to get access to buy tickets (that’s a massive thing in my opinion that needs to change immediately) and they will come.

Of course top flight football will help and we‘re doing our utmost to get this back at the first attempt.

Apart from the mongs :ROFLMAO:

I might be wrong but I read the stuff about 'market conditions' being different as referring to the cost of borrowing.
The 'golden age' of cheap credit has gone and it will affect these rates, probably leading to stretching out the overall programme.
My misgivings about the hotel were mostly about its massive size. But as said, they will know their core business.
Their expertise in running arenas is less certain and it will probably be operated by specialists
I researched the Nottingham arena some years ago as a good and local example and it was not an unqualified success despite having a core anchor attraction (Ice hockey). The capacity of 10,000 had only been met once. That said, something bigger than DeMont and a replacement Granby Halls is needed.
We must also remember that the leisure market is ever increasing and attractions can generate their own success.

Would be nice for them to sell day tickets, allowing people like me when visiting the country to be able to buy a ticket without worrying about membership, points or having to try and buy a season ticket. It seemed to work OK paying on the gate at Filbert Street.
Free ticket with each hotel booking 😜
