I know you have a reason to be pissed off with the club but you constantly bitch about everything they do.
I think it was a little. The initial mail I received implied that if you had a physical season ticket for last season you were sorted nothing more to do. If I wasn't so dead set against mobile tickets (and hadn't read this thread) I might well have ignored the later mail about delivery method which made it clear I DID have to make a selection otherwise it would be a mobile ticket for me.

The website states something completely different to the email. Its crap communication with contrasting information.
 
Renew by a certain date or it’s mobile only. Move price bands and it’s mobile only. Tick a million boxes on the website or it’s mobile only.
Where does it say that it’s mobile if you move price bands? My lad is now U22 and took the option of keeping his old card.

They said any changes and it has to be mobile only, or that’s how I interpreted the rules they have imposed.

As I said above maybe I’m wrong with this.

I am not sure about that.

What I saw was saying if you had a card and there were no changes keep the card.

What I saw doesn't say any changes and it is mobile only just that if no changes & you needed a replacement card at any point in time you would need to pay which as long as it is not punitive doesn't seem that unreasonable. Which isn't to say that it isn't any changes and mobile only, it just doesn't say that in what I saw.

For what it is worth (and different to the above) my mate has no changes to category or seat but has changed from mobile to physical card for the new season. And I believe for no charge.

I’m struggling to see how it’s misleading unless they’ve changed the layout from when I purchased ours.
There was a choice and you had to click the button next to one of them
Something like:
I want to keep my physical card (we won’t send a replacement unless …..)
I want a digital/mobile season ticket.
 
Just renewed. Easy peasy. Just like Hackers said. One click of button saying want season card and that was it.
Money taken, email sent saying "Delivery By Season Card" - keeping a hard copy of that for future reference. Job done.
 
I didn't think it was hard to do, 2 min exercise.
The funny bit was the wording about going mobile to aid smoother entry.
I've had to wait getting into the ground 3 times for people with mobile tickets who cudnt get them to work.
They were sent round to the ticket office 10 mins before ko.
I've used mobile tickets for 1 off cup games with no issues. I won't have a mobile season ticket, basically stuffed then as regards it's use if I can't go.

That they are pushing for the use of mobile tickets is indisputable & that communications sometimes appear unclear or contradictory is evidenced by some of the posts here (and that peoples' experiences are different is no surprise either as renewal process for direct debit vs one time payment is not the same and that is before you start getting into change of categories, moves etc.). I am grateful that they have not yet made mobile tickets mandatory but let's not pretend that they are not playing the long (but not that long) game & that they are not looking to move the number balance towards mobile ticketing through inaction (and I assume new season tickets will have no choice). They are.

Bottom line is: if you don't want to use mobile tickets you have to let them know before 5pm on June 14th.

Renewed mine and my lad's this morning. He's moved from U22 to Adult but it was still a really simple process. Ticked both for Season Ticket card, so I assume I'll continue using my existing one and he'll receive a new one for his new age/price category. Time will tell if it works out ok.
The old adage about an assumption being the prelude to a cock-up is almost certainly true when LCFC are concerned ;)
 
I renewed and I'm convinced I selected the physical card option. But on the website my 2023/24 season ticket no longer has the physical card number next to it (as it did for last year's). Now paranoid I've been shoved onto mobile tickets without my consent...
