Rooney sacked

I have to say on so many levels I’m pleased. Firstly it might show these American owners ( others are available) that this isn’t how it works in Socca. Secondly Rooney is an example ( others are available) of giving very high profile ex players chances of managing at clubs they don’t deserve. Thirdly, in Rooney’s case I don’t like him one bit.

Same with Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Geoff Hurst back in the day.

Of the World Cup winners only Jack Charlton and to a lesser extent Alan Ball had worthwhile careers in management.

Have Brum approached fat Frank yet? I'm sure he's available and looking for an overpaid opportunity to confirm his uselessness.

Incredible decision miles away from the transfer window to implement a completely new playing style.
Eustace had Birmingham playing ‘old school’ football. Goalkeepers and defenders launching the ball forward instead of playing out from the back. It was working with the limited squad they had.
Fair enough deciding you want to play modern pass it out from the back football. But if you do that, you need to give your managerial choice a full summer and some ability to steer the transfer policy to suit.
Rooney had no chance from the start. I don’t think he’s a good manager but the task was simply impossible. Birmingham are retarded for trying to pull it off. Rooney is daft for taking the job.
Ah well. Fuck him anyway the granny shagging bastard.

Someone predicted this would happen and that lightning would strike twice for Birmingham.

I can’t think who. 🤔

I should preface what I’m about to say by stating that I don’t much like Rooney, and it was an outrage that John Eustace was sacked when Birmingham were sitting in sixth, but I actually feel a bit sorry for him. No manager should be sacked after 13 games. He needed time, and at least one transfer window, before he was given the bullet.

Now, unless they bring Eustace back, or someone like Gary Rowett gets the gig, I hope they crash and burn.

I’m probably in a minority in that I don’t personally have anything against Rooney, but the decision to sack Eustace and replace him with Rooney has to go down as one of the stupidest decisions by an English club in recent years. Completely baffling.

If he'd managed to maintain where they were, or even kept them mid-table, he'd still be there.

But they're now sniffing around the arse-end of the division, almost in freefall. Hence the trigger being pulled now...

Just heard from a bluenose that the US owner was told he could get a grant for Heat Pumps and has ditched all the old boilers.
