Ref for Wednesday

People wanted VAR to cut out human error. Humans control VAR, so there is human error and people are acting all surprised.

Unless anyone can prove there is specific corruption (and despite my previous rants on it, there isn't a shred of evidence) then accept mistakes happen. The clubs voted for it, they got it.

What I will say is putting the man in charge of it, who embarrassed the entire referee fraternity with his inept performance in the 2010 World Cup final demonstrates the standards in England. A man lauded by the UK media and built up to some sort Collina, who shat the bed in front of a global audience.
The powers that be wanted VAR so they can manipulate the results, same as this added time bollocks, it’s clear manipulation of the game.

Originally I thought theyd not seen Romero's foot but from whats been said since it might be that the VAR people thought the goal had been given hence check complete. If that is the case theres absolutely no excuse not to stop the game whenever that is realised and correct matters.

I love the rule in rugby whereby a yellow can be upgraded to a red within the 10 mins the player is in the sin bin. I’d love to see a sin bin in football. But that’s far too sensible for FIFA. Along with stopping the clock and changing to 2x30 halves. PL are playing 8-10 mins extra in the 2nd half as a general minimum but UEFA aren’t in the CL/EL. WTF is that about. So the likes of Barça/Real et al can time waste I presume without penalty

Personally I am not a fan of having a sin bin for football. Mainly because it further complicates what should be a simple game but also if the level of paranoia around big team bias is high at the moment, a sin bin would send it off the scale (perception: big team gets sin bin rather than red, small teams gets sin bin rather than yellow etc.).

If this was to happen I would like to see the bar set higher than 30 minutes. We shouldn't be happy with only 60 minutes at the moment and we shouldn't if the method of timekeeping is changed.

If Barça/Real can get away with it in CL/EL so can Man City, Arsenal etc., it's the same for both teams. It's the supposed effect of playing more in the PL causing fatigue that is the potential issue for them but, I mean, do I care how knackered Martin Odegaard is whilst running around a pitch somewhere in mainland Europe?

Said that all along, no way are they allowing a little team like Leicester City win their precious Premier League again, that’s what VAR & the 5 subs change was introduced for, oh and the feckin bent officials…
