It's Got Very Boring Watching LCFC

Everybody is starting to play this way now. Man Ure today were a shadow of the team that used to play fantastic attacking football, they were quite happy to play it about among the defenders with little purpose. You rarely see a goalie take a goal kick now & just belt it upfield for someone to try & win in the air. It's the new trend, started by Pep who has won everything so everybody thinks it's the way to play now. Trouble is very few teams have the unlimited funds that he has to buy the best technical players in the world.

Eventually it will die off & somebody will come up with something different that is sucessful & everyone will copy that. No idea how long that will be but it may be sometime
 
Whats wrong with some huge East German centre half winning the header in the defensive penalty box - then a little mechanical dynamo wins the loose ball and passes it to the creative midfielder who threads a delicious long through long ball into the path of a sharp as faack centre forward who steers the ball into the net?
Total touches - about 5 from defensive box to goal.
Total possession about 30%.
Total league defeats - about 3.
Final league position - 1st.

Here’s a thing that I’ve said many times before.

In 15-16 everyone thought we were useless and would go down. Even when we were top of the league opponents wouldn’t set up defensively against us. Had one of them done so and got a result, others would have followed and we probably wouldn’t have won the league.

From the following season, and right up to yesterday, opponents have set up defensively against us. We cannot play the same style of football as we did that wonderful season as it just wouldn’t be effective.

However we still haven’t found the magic key to unpick this lock. If we are to be promoted this season we need to find a way.
 
Daggers it ain’t all that complicated.
You can pass it to your hearts content and with skill and movement you can get past players and move forwards.
Or someone can dribble it past players and get you forward.
Or you can kick it hard to move it forwards and try to win it or the ‘second ball’
None of these ways are better than the other, at least one is more entertaining imo

But we also had plan B with big Leo and Huth who could head them in from anywhere

God help us if it carries like this though, it will be like watching a game of chess over 90 minutes with 10 mins of actual movement.
Eventual results great, entertainment factor, none!!
 
.Trend follows trend l'm afraid the gaffer is steeped in this play seen it work so it's a natural thing but he has got to work on players it make it work, he has to Improve their instincts, their fitness, and their accuracy so it becomes second nature.
There is derailing this man from his purpose
