Football misjudgements

My sample size of one saw Norman Leet have a good game so I thought he would go far.
I also thought Bob Lee would be a top striker for us.
My dad to me after 30 mins of watching Kenny D play against us in what ended up as a 0-4 tanking "he's not very good is he, should've stayed at Celtic"

More recently I had just finished telli8ng my son they needed to get Daka off when up he popped and scored 2 against Rotherham. Id still drop him though!

Gareth Williams. I thought he was one of the best passers of a ball I'd seen in a City shirt. Bone idle was his downfall.

I was certainly too optimistic regarding Daka. I thought we had unearthed another gem in the Kanté/Mahrez mould.

When I look back, I tend to err on the 'too optimistic' side, perhaps misled by many genuinely good appointments from the wilderness.

Keith Gillespie was another that comes to mind. An International, what could possibly go wrong?
Peter Taylor - a clever choice with a good lower league pedigree!
Brendan Rodgers - the best choice in years! How shrewd is that appointment?
Lots of others I suppose.

On the pessimistic side: I certainly wasn't convinced by Robert Huth: too wooden, poor injury record, long gone from Germany's team, couldn't get into the Stoke team either. Who'd have thought he'd turn into Leicester's Berlin Wall and an Immortal?
