“And here comes Charlton …..”. What a brilliant second goal by Bobby. And the commentary by Kenneth Wolstenholme is pretty good too!

Yes, I was on the wall right side of the Main Stand, as usual. I recall the Leicester crowd were really pissed off by Leeds' behaviour.

Also - does anyone remember before the advertising boards were put in, the boys (and some girls!) on the wall had to sit facing the crowd and turn around to see the game? It was supposedly to protect our delicate, spindly legs in case some beefy player like the Tank came crashing down upon us, or the ball was kicked hard against our poor lower limbs...
Yes remember doing that also if you were early enough you could sit on the wall behind the old half time score boards on the side of the pitch in front of the main stand

I’ve never seen it on tv. I know we won 5-1. Are you mixing it up with Jennings who did it 2 months earlier in the charity shield. This was on tv

nope, I think maybe Cross passed it back to him. His kick bounced about 5 or 10 yards outside of their area and the goalkeeper came out to near the edge of his box to take it but he'd come too far and it bounced/skidded over his head while he tried to reach it. It was also pissing down.

Now I've no idea what I've had for dinner today but this is clear in my head !

Doubt it was on tv
it was.

Maybe match of the Day, or perhaps the news.

I went to the 1970 FA Cup game there, which was rotten weather as well. We didn't live with my dad, but I'd go up to his local in Wigston from the Monsell on a Friday night, try and cop him when he was half pissed and tap him for money for an away game. It didn't work very often, but it did this time. We all got searched going in as there'd been trouble before the game and when Everton had gone there the week before, 9 people had been stabbed. Remember being right on the front row and couldn't see the whole pitch, it was the worst ground that I'd been too up until then.
