You'll miss it when it has gone

Of course you would Richard. You believe anyone slightly to the right of Joe Stalin is a conservative just as I believe anyone slightly to the left of Ronald Reagan is a socialist.

Just a matter of perspective.

The BBC is very like the tory party, at the top level at least, but also like the Tories, as you filter down the hierarchy to more everyday matters it becomes more and more left wing. The woke agenda invests all it's output, it is across every genre, not just current affairs.

Is that true? Standards are really slipping, Alvar Lidell was properly attired even when reading the new on the wireless.
As you believe everyone slightly to the left of atilla the hun is a Marxist

One could argue it’s balanced in that respect then.

I’d hate to see an unwoke music policy for 6Music - Skrewdriver’s music is awful.
I used to be a big fan of the BBC's music output but that changed, for me, about 15-16 years ago. A combination of their focus on the whole hip-hop/rap/r&b, a genre that I have no interest in, and the advent of on line streaming.

I use Tidal a lot.

Read the post to the end Richard, Atilla the Hun = Ronald Reagan.

As far as I can work out what folk usually mean when accusing the BBC of being ‘ left’ is that there are an increasing number of LGBT storylines and black faces in its programmes and presenters .
And the idea of a woman hosting MoTD . Good grief the end of civilisation as we know it .
They then accuse the so called ‘woke’ ( whatever that actually means ) of being easily upset 😂

Plenty of good, listenable rap/hip-hop/R & B around - doesn’t have to be the commercial stuff. Just switch away from Radio 1 to hear it.
Fair comment Mm, a good few people have sent me recommendations (on music forums that I frequent) and I do give it a go but I do find it pretty hard going. I can hear that some artists have talent but generally it leaves me cold. An age thing possibly.

That said I do like new music, but it is likely to be 'new to me' rather than 'new as in latest', I rarely play my 'favourites' preferring to explore stuff I have not heard before. Streaming services are wonderful in that respect.
