Why Barnes didn't make the England squad

I really hope someone is working with him on this. Calm him down in front of goal, he snatches at it and seems to panic. Needs someone to put there arm around him because he gets into all the right positions but can't help thinking this is damaging his confidence in his all round game

Maybe so but Lineker missed a lot of chances in his first couple of seasons and, as Lineker did, Barnes gets into a lot of very very good positions. Who else last night remotely threatened their goal?
 
Absolutely agree. Nobody else threatened last night. His pace at times was incredible which is why it's such a shame his finishing is wayward. Hopefully you're right and maturity will bring composure because I love his direct running. We don't need another Demari.....
