Considering how easy it seems to be to get into the UK seems absurd that there were all the delays to get out. He can't be that hard to spot at an airport and would normally have no ID, yet chaos ensues at some airports. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in Border Force UK does it? Why bother with the checks if they go into meltdown when someone escapes from a prison.

Which makes you wonder how it was possible for him to be in the kitchen and escape in the first place. If he was on remand surely he would not be able to perform those sort of duties, and if he is so important would he not have been in a maximum security prison such as Belmarsh?

Remand prisoners can work in a kitchen...but like like you said it seems a basic security check wasn't carried out.
