Vestergaard not a red

This has been one of my questions, if a decision goes to VAR how can it be overturned?

That said I don’t think there was any mention of VAR for the Verstegaard challenge although it surely must have been reviewed by them?

That’s a bizarre decision to overturn the Vestergaard sending off. He may have got a touch on the ball but the follow through was a potential leg breaker and clearly prevented Vardy getting the ball. It was as bad as going over the top of the ball but skimming the surface of it.
However if he plays a part in Southampton beating Liverpool and West Ham I’m prepared to accept it as the right decision.

Reviewed by Jon Moss..say no more!!

maybe it was overturned on a paperwork technicality? he was officially sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity, rather than serious foul play (endangering an opponent).

perhaps it was only overturned as they felt it wasn't a clear goal scoring opportunity, and they are not allowed to change the referees decision to serious foul play. its similar to the VAR bullshit with Sheff utd/Villa phantom goal last year...due to the letter of the law VAR "wasn't allowed" to intervene as they cannot judge on goal line decisions 🤯

I think the sending off cost us 2 points----Having conceded a very harsh penalty we couldnt breach the red wall. Without the sending off they may have been more ambitious and we could have won comfortably

Isn't it funny but in cricket there are several referrals in an innings but they have perfected a system in which there are no controversies..

For the interruptions that VAR causes, it has to be a 100% perfect system. It shouldn't be used for anything that still requires interpretation.

So fine for whether a ball crosses a line.

It shouldn't be used for anything else, other than checking whether a sending off or yellow card was wrong - following an appeal. After the game.
