Vardy longevity.

I really thought that this season we’d possibly see his final games as a starter of the great Jamie especially as he’d struggled so much in the 2nd half of last season. Yes he’d created a lot of chances but I was concerned that age had finally caught up with him especially as a goal scorer. But how
( thankfully) wrong am I. Apart from his goals at Norwich and Palace, his other 7 have all been technically difficult, but he’s made them look easy. Both finishes today were again exquisite. So he’s got 9 goals
( no pens) from just 13 games so far. He never ever ceases to amaze me. Absolutely brilliant.

All credit to him and to Brendan Rodgers for keeping the miracle going.

Jamie is really looking after himself with his fitness regime, ice chamber and so on. You can also tell that he knows how to use his summer break because he usually starts the season well. It was also a very wise decision to let go of England - only additional burden and very little reward!

Credit must also go to Brendan Rodgers: he told Vardy not to chase every lost cause, is trying to rest him and so on.

We'll see how long Jamie Vardy can go on like this. He often suffers a dip in form over the winter, and last season he didn't quite recover from that into the second half of the season. I very much like what I see so far though!

Lots of praise for him on MOTD2 last night and he'll soon be topping the table for goals scored in PL after the age of 30.

I think he benefits from having a week off between games. And he now have proper backup in Nacho, Daka, Perez, Lookman and Barnes. Barnes played really well yesterday, he and Roberts linked up very effectively.

Why did he celebrate one of his goals in front of Claudio? Seems strange to me, wondered if anyone knew why? He usually goes to corners but he made a very deliberate effort to head for the tech areas?

It's always worth watching the Youtube compilation of his first 100 PL goals. And then watching it again. And again.

Edited to say this was meant to be posted in the current 'legends' thread but it doesn't seem too misplaced.
