It has been very clear for weeks to anyone who pays attention to the real world data that the vaccines do not fully protect you from infection (60%) but are extremely effective at keeping you out of hospital or the morgue . ( 94% if infected )
Hopefully this will continue to be the case .
If this strain is able to outperform Delta in terms of infection and it takes 7 months to get fully vaccinated I suspect any elderly unvaccinated folks are probably fucked .
