Up norf

More castles than you can shake a stick at, Bamburgh is striking, Chillingham is fucking weird (google it)
Best dark sky in the UK in the Kielder Forest.
Treehouse restaurant in Alnwick was pretty good (about 3 years ago)
Craster kippers.
If you’re National Trust or English Heritage members, fill yer boots, there’s tons of stuff.

Visit Hexham. Beautiful Abbey, and the restaurant at the Beaumont Hotel opposite is excellent (we stayed there in April - thoroughly recommend). Alnwick is worth a visit, and the castle is the home of the Duke of Northumberland. You should also go to Dunstanburgh - the castle is destroyed, but the walk up the coast to get to it is lovely.

And so much more……!

Will be

I will Junkie, thanks for that. Do you know any good drug pushers up that way, in case I want to turn psychotic, and destroy some brain cells?
No, I don’t do drugs. But you seem to be doing a pretty good job destroying brain cells with your alcohol consumption.

Bouchon is another good restaurant in Hexham

Was Blackhall Colliery Beach where they filmed the final scenes in Get Carter. Is anything still there today?

I'm up in Durham (in the Easington area) at the moment for family reasons.
My God I'm glad its only for 2 days, shuttered and boarded up shops, washing hanging in front gardens, lifeless, charmless place.

What are Huddersfield and Rotherham like for away fan pubs?
Need to get my ‘here be dragons’ head back on, hardly been north for a game in years.
