Yes it was. Until folk challenged the narrative and forced the government and military to admit it.
The harm from exposure to agent orange to Vietnamese and US personnel had been denied for years. The whole truth has still not been admitted. Those that challenged the narrative were classed as conspiracy theorists.

Why does diesel cost more than petrol, it never used to.
