The Tank .......

I remember against Blackpool night game sure it was 0-0 terrible pitch 1970 I think and the tank floored some Blackpool player on the halfway line as we had a corner I was bang opposite in pop side il always remember it the Blackpool player when he got up was screaming at the ref and linesman no one saw it including all my mates

My memory might be playing tricks with me but although he was older didn't he hang about with Jeff Blockley and Dave Needham when he was a lad

Your right about the match
Remember it well was it on was it off? played it anyway
Jimmy Armfield played for them I'm sure that night

His brother Steve lived a few doors down from my folks years ago ..... And, his Mother in law Pam owned a Cafe on St. Saviours Rd., Near Gedding Rd. corner. Always saw him round there, with his identical twin daughters in the 70's. Always got his autograph.

One of the last of that multi-sport generation. One Saturday I saw him score an unbeaten 22 in the morning at Grace Road, bundle one in against the Brummies in the afternoon, and then make a Double Double against the Harlem Globetrotters at the Granby Halls, before heading off to Blackbird Road in time to ride in Heats 13 and 15 against the Pirates.

One of my early heroes. A ball playing twin centre half. He had an incongruously tiny stride for a big man

Got his autograph loads of times can still copy it from memory

He was our paper boy in the late fifties and smashed our kitchen window with a cricket ball.. a true all rounder!

I used to go to Wigston College with one of his daughters in the early 80s. Dropped her off home a couple of times. Hall Close in Glen Parva was ‘Leicester City Legend’ housing in those days. How times have changed.

I met him a few times, his cousin I think it was lived across the road from us and he used to visit now and again always had time for you. He was manager of Hinckley athletic in the 80,s if my memory is right and played against them in the f a vase a couple of times, always, seemed a good bloke.

Nice bloke. Had a beer with him in Bournemouth around 20 years ago. He lived locally.

Although he did I have no recollection of Crossy managing the Atho

A decade before my time but I’ve still got his B side floating around somewhere with the ‘this is the season for Leicester’ smash hit!

First song produced by Trevor Horn, I believe. Who, of course, went onto the MTV smash ‘Royal Mail wasn’t So Good For The Midfield Star’

Could be right
Can't remember for sure Just remember that he was a City player and came from off the estate
I was starting at Monsell juniors when he was starting out at the City
Started going down Filbert St 64/65 and
remember him in the 69 final later on

Saw him play in the '63 Cup Final as well. He also kept wicket in one game at Grace Road against Hampshire as an emergency keeper in an injury depleted side!
