That tackle,

Weller

Roofer
I've watched it several times now and you have to agree its probably one of the best you'll ever see, the bit that amazes me more is that poor old Harry's squeals wen un noticed by the darlings of the media!!!!

It was. It absolutely was. But with that ref and the way he was giving out cards it was a ‘dangerous’ thing to do IMO. Especially as it was against Kane. He was already, unfairly I’d say, on a yellow.

Is it just me but the tackle of the game was Kristiansen's in the box against a Spuds attacker as he aimed to shoot. Not sure who it was, but the crunch echoed around the ground in my mind as a change in attitude to danger. No more standing back to 'see if the shot will hit me', win the effing ball.

Yellow card was 100% correct not even debatable
Second tackle was brilliantly executed

Fine margins Brian. Just slightly mistimed and he'd have got a second yellow for sure and we'd all be calling him reckless. It really was a thing of beauty - great anticipation, speed, aggression and I actually think he deliberately passed it to the NGM too. I'm not sure I'd give it the hyperbole our mate Garth has given it as "the best tackle I've seen in years" but it's certainly up there and had echoes of that one by Walshy that had Hopkins writhing on the touchline at Wembley. Deep joy!!

I'm sure I recall Hopkins was doing his writhing four rows up in the stands.

The Referee on Saturday was possibly the worst I have seen in the Premier League (and we have witnessed some absolute garbage)
No communication with the players, preferred to wave the yellow card instead of a good talking too, the tackle on Kane early on by Faes was a very soft yellow, never seen him Ref before and hopefully never again…

The standards of refereeing in the top flight are pretty appalling.

In England they have no excuse, they are professional FFS. Now the poor fuckers have got Howard Webb trying to tell them what to do. The UK media made him out to be an English Collina, he wasn't fit to sharpen his Italian pencil.

I agree. Out of his depth. Gave us 5 cards. Seriously? He put himself into a right spot by giving out the yellows early. And what was the Maddison one about? He’s one of the new ones. Unfortunately they never give these guys the bigger matches. Also they were one ref down as Anthony Taylor was on World Club Cup duty.

It’s his tenth premier match his first was our game against Southampton where he was also abysmal, he seems to think that if a foul is committed it’s a yellow card every time!

Bob Hazel on Steve Wicks on Boxing Day v QPR. Wicks had clattered Stevie Lynex and Bob had him in his sights for a good 5 minutes until he had his chance, He took Wicks out with the most brutal but fair tackle in front of the popular side, it was so intense a small piece of guttering came crashing down too.

He was poor but he was correct to caution Faes if he let that go players would have kicked buck out of each other
Nothing wrong with kicking the buck out of each other, I used to for St Pats on a Saturday afternoon and never got booked, mind you we did have good referees back then… 😊
