Amartey did everything asked of him when our backs were to the wall with injuries last season, and I thank him for that, but he was never the answer. Not for us as a team with aspirations to qualify regularly for Europe. Maybe some within the club thought he deserved a chance this season but that decision has cost us.

We should sell him in the summer, but we won’t.

He’s always been better going forward than defending. Maybe he’ll play him right side Midfield and leave TC or JJ to fight it out for right back.

After both doing in his anterior cruciate ligaments and his achilles tendon there's a big question mark whether Ricardo will ever be anywhere near his best, i.e. the player we knew from three years ago.

I guess we'll find out but at this stage I wouldn't bet huge sums on him ever becoming a 30+ games a season player again.

Agreed but if Ricardo is anything like the old Ricardo then I think he’ll be first choice ahead of JJ.
