That Boozer in Dudley

what's the the old phrase
"it's easier to ask for forgiveness after the fact than ask for permission beforehand."
if they'd asked they might've been refused.
now it's been knocked down all that will happen at worst is there will be some financial penalty. the council cannot ask them to rebuild as it was before and they know it.

It's just down the road from me. Definitely dodgy but the police only seem to be taking an interest after loads of locals have kicked up a fuss. Why didn't they investigate the day after it burnt down? They left it too late once it was flattened.

I do find it slightly amusing though, all these people visiting the site and taking bricks home saying how much they loved the place. Well, if they'd all continued to drink there the landlord wouldn't have needed to close up and sell to the dodgy people who own the landfill site next door.

It seems the developers have form for this kind of thing. A number of their previous acquisitions have mysteriously burned to the ground shortly after purchase. It seems that in this case they've attracted rather more scrutiny than they expected. I hope they get arrested and charged.
