Slabhead

I know they had their tails up and we were struggling with injuries & suspensions, and confidence, but it’s still a travesty that they beat us that last game of the season to qualify for the Champions League this year.

That papered over their cracks. They have an average manager at best and really aren’t very good. Their big saviour Fernandez only seems to score penalties.

Having a season in the Europa League may well do us some good in the long run. It’s certainly not doing us any harm at the minute.

Just seen the 1st goal that they conceded last night.
Absolutely comical schoolboy defending.
If you get a chance have a look.

Nothing in solskjaer says manager. Average at best is being extremely kind daggers & the proof is in when you ask yourself, would any fan of any club in the top 2 leagues be happy if he was appointed as your clubs gaffer?
Still find it hilarious that he got the gig in the first place.

Like I said papering over the cracks. Are they too good to go down? Can you imagine if that was to actually happen? That would piss all over the idea of their European elite league.

Long may Solskjaer continue in the hot seat.

Edited to add I don’t think he’ll still be there come Boxing Day.

I thought he would be sacked by last Xmas - he seems to get a good result and a stay of execution just when the axe is hovering

Which is good :)

I reckon if they tried to offload him they would d struggle to get 35 million, there's better options out there in my opinion.

No coincidence the Pochettino's media presence is suddenly on the rise. Doing MNF was basically his version of a job interview - ie, "remember me"! Ole will have a nice long break over Christmas before taking a top job in Scandinavia.

He’s only managed Cardiff and Molde before! Hardly top drawer. It’s always been amazing how some of these former hero players are given top jobs immediately. Rarely do they come up to expectation. I remember Bryan Robson in the 90’s with Boro. Totally backed big time by the chairman but he was always bang average. Lampard just might be the exception. I also think Poch is being lined up at manure. It would be a good fit.

Actually, I feel a bit sorry for Harry Maguire and wonder whether in private he actually regrets leaving Leicester. I don't think he ever let us down when he was here but being captain of Man United in such a state is perhaps a class above his punch weight, both football-wise and mentally.

It’s early days regarding Lampard, but everyone knows that he is a bright, intelligent chap, so he at least stands a chance.

One Manure mistake was making the classic error of turning a caretaker permanent
Their error wasn't just making a caretaker permanent - it was the classic mistake of choosing a manager because he happened to have played for the club. Would Solskjaer have been considered on his managerial record alone? Never in a million years. So why appoint him? It's insane - yet clubs still do it.

I liked Harry Maguire, thought he was a very good and reliable player who got into the England team by playing for us. Very disappointed when he decided that he wanted to leave. He enjoyed his football here, and it has been an alarmingly bad move to go to United where he looks as miserable as sin.

Swabian - his choice though. Clearly ambitious to "better himself" and thought he would do that by going to Man U. No sympathy deserved at all as I see it. He didn't have to leave. Presumably no complaints from any of us that he did though.

Decent but not world class... he's too slow and lacks the spatial awareness required to be a great defender.

Sure, although I imagine that as an ex-player he was well-known to have exactly the sort of upbeat positive personality that they so badly needed after old misery guts had left the place like a morgue.

That was my point above. Any other manager who’d been in charge of Molde and Cardiff get the job? No chance.
But he knows the club. No he doesn’t. It was 20 years ago when he played there. Only people still there are probably the kit man and the tea ladies.

Poch was always a better fit. He’s had some time off and waited in the wings. I’m sure his price will have gone up also.
