Sharp practice or fair game ?

Brauny

The optimistic pessimist
Two things in different places over the last 2 days.

1.......I asked for a pint of lager top the other day.
It was £4.80 for the pint. The bar attendant then went to the till and added 50p for the shot of lemonade. I didn't question it but I have had a frank discussion in another venue over a pint of lager and lime.
So the pint cost me £5.30 because of the lemonade, but if you're pint is finished off with lemonade then why isn't there a reduction in cost of the lager. After all they are giving you less lager. Regarding the previous mentioned lager and lime where they wanted to charge a ridiculous 90p for the lime., I insisted that they serve me in two separate glasses, the pint of lager in one and the shot of lime in the other.
That's fair isn't it ? I am paying for it aren't I !!!

2 I ordered a sirloin steak the other day. Not cheap these days, this one was £18.95. On the menu it said the steak was served with chips tomato and a full salad garnish. Now I am no fan of salad, which was just as well because on being served there wasn't any on the plate.
There was not a single mention by the staff in a way of an explanation. Now surely they should apologise for not having any and knock a small amount off the cost.
It's not that I was out to save money by the shortcomings, but more of an annoyance that they thought it was acceptable to give you less than what you paid for with no offer of a reduction.

Would you do kick off or accept it ?

Unfortunately the post-mix is where pubs make most of their money nowadays. Your shot of lemonade probably cost 1p, I used to give it away.

Why didn't you ask where the salad garnish was when the steak was put in front of you?

A larger fucking top! What sort of weirdo are you?
But your argument is valid, if there was room in the glass for a drop of pop it was a short measure

And what the fuck is a dollop of rabbit food doing on a plate of hot snap? If there’s room for that crap there’s room for more chips. If it’s green it’s gone off
I wouldn’t have complained about the lack of green shit but I would have asked for some sort of compo under the trade’s description act

Of course I could have and the more I thought about it I probably should have. Like I said it's something I don't particularly like any way but If they had missed off onion rings and mushrooms I would have kicked off.
The point is purely the principle of what they done.
I am just wondering if they would still had the bare face cheek to serve that plate to a ravenous grisly looking 6ft 6 18 stone man mounting.🤔😁

Exactly, surely it's a con ?
When you consider even 1/8 th of a pint would be about 50p minimum nowadays. Thats probably not far off the amount of beer they are short changing you with

Never go back and tell all your mates. Find somewhere that doesn't take the piss and tell your mates in a good way.

Then watch the former go bust.

All depends what he was trying to climb onto, I reckon.

The point he originally made was he was charged extra for the lemonade on top of his short measure. The head on a pint of draught beer should remain for the whole pint and therefore it continues to taste of beer unlike the chemistry pumped into keg beer.
