Project Big Picture (Again)

The more you read about this, the more it seems that those running the Premier League were broadly in favour of it, or at least wary of appearing against it. Let it happen, and let’s be rid of them.

Outgoing Barcelona has admitted that “top clubs”, in Europe are in discussions about a European Super League.

Is it all our fault? Since 2016, have they realised that the likes of us, Everton and Wolves are likely to deprive them of their rightful Champions and first three losers league spots?

It is partly our "fault". The problem the "big" clubs have, is that two things could undermine their cartel.

The first is that a club can come into the Premier League and attract a group of underachievers and players with a point to prove and go on to either win the title, or occupy a top four spot. All it takes is a squad with team spirit, focus and unrecognised talent. Which is what 2015/16 was all about.

The second problem is the money in the Premier League. Yes the "big" clubs have a greater income, but the rest of the division still earn an absolute fortune. Which means that other teams can build very decent squads, leading to them challenging for the top spots.

Leicester City combine both of these threats to the established clubs.

Their only hope is to diminish the incomes of the outsiders and to close access to European competitions.

Everytime a team like Leicester gets a top four spot; it costs one of the "big" clubs around £70m. I'm still annoyed that Man City wriggling out of their FFP sanctions; cost us £70m. Farcical...

Agree with sixth - the big clubs are now looking over their shoulder - for good reason.
With all the PL clubs awash with cash there are no guarantees anymore and the 'big 6' don't like it

I’m still annoyed we couldn’t secure one more win to finish in the top four rather than having to rely on another team being punished.

I’d love us to win it again this year, even a top four finish would put the wind up them all.

We fell short by a win and a draw.

It would be great to see us and at least one other, gate-crash the top 4 monopoly this season.

With no fans allowed in grounds at the minute all clubs are getting the same amount of gate receipts, zilch.

Another leveller the big clubs wont be happy about.

Will joining this ‘Super league‘ actually mean that they will leave the Prem? Or will this just be a substitute for the Champions League and mean they can still lord it over the Prem and deny the rest of us access to top European competitoon?

Correct. Rigged Premier League money and rules, coupled with a closed-shop (20 years) European competition.

Seriously, we should just kick the ScouseMancs out of English football altogether...

If Man Ure finish in the bottom half of the league how can they possibly be invited into this elite competition?

If they don’t get awarded the penalties Fernandes is putting away, there’s a big chance of this happening.

I suspect the invitees will be allowed to nominate the ten years that their credentials are derived from. Either that, or it'll be bae don the number of twitter likers or some such bollocks...
