Perplexed by the apathy

Brauny

The optimistic pessimist
Like most of us I have seen many a shit player in a Leicester shirt. There have been some poor teams and poor managers, but I struggle to recall our football club having such a lack of fight, heart and direction. There is not a single thing or person that's capable of providing even a smidgen of hope at this moment.
It just seems ludicrously unprofessional for a top flight club to practically give up without an almighty effort, but that is us, a rudderless ship sinking without even a whimper.
The catastrophic implications of relegation is now our reality. How on Earth as it come to this ?
Only a year ago we were moaning about a poor season when finishing 8th. It's hard to comprehend how much the confidence and ability as drained from almost every player, and the spirit and ambition that's been sucked out of the club.
I know BR gets the blame for a lot of what's happened, but come on where is the professional pride in the players?
Players have big egos, most should hate losing, do our lot ?
What have we inherited ? A group of players that don't give a toss ? When I think of the likes of Walshy, Matty Elliott, Huth and others, you could never accuse them of not giving their all.
Fans will forgive players if they give it 100%. It's a mandatory requirement for clubs not blessed with superstars.
I am sure most of us will start to look at next season and the Championship.
Personally I don't think our woes will end with relegation. We won't do a Burnley. They had far smaller wage structure than us and Top will know that our wages in the Championship will send the club into oblivion
I doubt there will be very little left of this team come the opening day of next season. Some will probably say great and good riddance, but it's going to be a massive reality check when the club starts recruiting players that's going to be like a throwback to the mid 2000's
This as been a terrible week for us. You look at those fixtures knowing that these are the games to get points from. We got 0 from 9. I wonder how many walked out the KP today, knowing that this is the last rites of Premier League football and how many years before we will see it again.
Today imo was one of the darkest days in my time of following City.
Ah well I am off to get razzled. It will feel good until tomorrow morning.

agreed, I've never felt so much loss of hope.

I'd sack them 2 idiots tonight for sheer cowardice. What do the pair of twats do anyway, obviously they are no good as coaches, let alone setting a team up.

Soumare and Armarty in the starting 11, we all knew this would happen on our way to the ground. The only people in the 30,000 who didn't was Stowell and what ever his name is (I'm not really interested in his name because he needs fucking off now).

Rodgers as destroyed the great club we were, from the inside, in 4 years. Fucking hate him.

Imo this is on Top. The club said when they sacked Rodgers, finally, that they believed sticking rather than twisting had been the best approach, but finally they had to make the move.
They were wrong. He was wrong. The lack of fight can be traced back to any number of matches where we fully expected him to get the chop and he didn’t.

I’m perplexed full stop.
Perplexed that Rodgers couldn’t stop himself from self-destructing like he did at Liverpool.
Perplexed that the people employing him didn’t call time much earlier than they did.
Perplexed that almost all of the pundits fell for his continual mis-direction (even the supposedly wise John Percy).
Perplexed that too many of our supporters, including a good few on here, simply couldn’t see what was happening.
Perplexed that the players still don’t have the balls to fight back, even after the manager has gone.
Perplexed that a player called Soumare even exists.

The only plus is that half the fuckers are out of contract at seasons end anyway so we won’t be stuck with their ridiculous wages

I said some time ago that if we get into a dog fight we are down, we have no leaders or fighters in the team. As they drive home in there expensive cars there thoughts will just wander to there next Holiday or maybe that new club for next year, a new batch of players and staff will have to come in. Top is not knowledgeable on football but pays good money to people who are meant to be. He and us have been badly let down , It will cost millions if indeed Top decides not to sell to put this mess right. I find it unbelievable that some people could not see this coming last year after the Forest game? But then again maybe nothing should surprise me anymore. I did not want to go today after seeing the side being put out but bit the bullet anyway how I wish I had stayed at home. There is a guy on youtube has a show called illusion he says football is all rigged and made up. I am beginning to believe him the way our managers and players throw games away.

that fella called "illusion". talks shite, l do believe its all rigged but the shit that he talks is unreal. He thinks 4-2 is the devils score.

Àpathy for some is reality for others

We are shit and have been for many months.

I see no point in getting upset at Top. I’ve said before he’s been flung in to a situation he was never ready for and this is the result.

And I can understand it, he trusted his Dad’s ‘trusted’ people at the club because that’s all he could do, there was and still is no other point of reference.

If Vichai was still around he’d be calling the shots for years to come before Top got his hands on the tiller. Sadly we are suffering as he learns on the job.

It's indeed very hard to comprehend.

The dithering rudderlessness of the club seems, after all, go back to that fateful day in October 2018. They would not have put up with this for so long if Vichai were still alive and in charge. It's sad but Top doesn't have the same leadership qualities in him (yet), otherwise this would not have happened, I'm pretty sure of that.

I've just reread a thread from September last year. The signs for a very poor season were evident there, and we were speculating WHEN (not IF) they were going to pull the trigger. They didn't as we all know. There were interim recoveries but the start of season (including the first game v Brentford) was so poor it would definitely have been enough and more than justified. It's just incredible that over such a long period they never seem to have really contemplated sacking Rodgers and finding a successor, otherwise they would have had one by the time they finally did sack him and not employ people who put out a team with Amartey and Soumare in such a situation.

Now confidence is rock bottom. A combination of Rodgers' destructive management, the rudderlessness in leadership and the self-enforcing dynamics of such a situation. I see no way back, and God knows what will happen to this club in the Championship. And it's so unnecessary because the players are easily good enough for a mid-table position, top half even!

I feel like getting totally sloshed tonight. I probably won't but it's a truly shitty day today, and, indeed, one or perhaps the worst day in my time following Leicester City!

Complete bollocks

He ain't up to the job on any level. Time to sell up and focus on driving Tolberone sales to née heights.

Vichai will always be the man. The 'Family' don't count for anything to me. Let them focus on Duty Free.

Sell up and we can all move on

End of an era in terms of players. Which for Leicester has always meant relegation and rebuilding. Should be used to it by now. Always happens when we start signing players who aren't hungry. And today they were certainly not hungry, more like fat contented cats waddling around the pitch most of the time.

Today was a day when I reached breaking point with it all. I can't be on my own in thinking that the result, performance, and the importance of it all, just well and truly signalled the end of a very special era.
You looked for the team to be fired up for a vital game. Everyone knew the significance of it.........except the players and the frauds that took charge.
We needed them to give everything, but there was no soul, like a condemned man about to have the hood put over his head.

Sell up to who then?

Where are all the potential buyers? Who do we go for, a local Mel Morris?

It's the hope that kills you.

On the basis that we are down, one scintilla of optimism is that we have the basis of a decent defence. Iversen, Souttar and Justin all have Championship experience, I assume Christiansen and Faes will stay at least for a season. Barnes has scored regularly in the Championship.

We then need to find a midfield, but with Maddison, Tielemans and the rest gone we ought to be able to afford one,

hes lived a spoilt and privileged live, we are a rich mans toy.

People go on about him writing off £192million, he created that debt !

I'm not having a go at the owners as we are lucky enough to have done very well up until they let Rodgers con them, but get real, they are not us, they are using us. So, its been a good mutual arrangement up until 2 years ago, so if be both don't gain from the connection it'll need severing. I don't think we are there quite yet but just remember, they are not us, we have had a live time of this club impacting on our lives and we will go to our graves with it in our hearts, they won't, its just a toy.

For the record, l think they will do everything to pull it around right now, they've fucked up massively with Rodgers and they know it.

Another spelling mistake in a post.

It's C-A-A-A-N-T-S, not cats

Unfortunately you can’t blame Top it’s quite well known that from a business perspective he was clueless that’s why Khun Vichai brought him along for the experience and keep him away from his real business interests. I think although I don’t like to say it that he is the stereotypical spoilt kid.

Now to the business end of it the problems lie fairly and squarely at the feet of Whelan and Rudkin. They run the club they allowed players contracts to dwindle down to the point that now we had a squad of couldn’t care less players which is reflected in their performances.

The Tielemans saga just epitomises everything what is wrong and they allowed Rodgers to let him fester in the first team just creating a toxic kind of vibe amongst those players who wasn’t given a real chance example Praet who was treat like somekind of pariah by Rodgers.

Only hope is that Kingpower see the light and start to be a bit more hard nosed business people and leave this feeling of loyalty behind to those two wasters in particular !!

No matter where we end up there are the foundations in place that will allow us to rise up again. We all know the rollercoaster ride of being a Leicester supporter pre King power and nobody will ever of dreamed of the the ride we have been on.

Come on Leicester !!!

he moved on today, pretended to be injured and fuck off down the tunnel.

What's more, Soyuncu and Tielemens didn't stay to watch the end, there's no team here anymore !
Perhaps the prospect of facing Walker next week had a bit to do with it?

This is not going to be a popular view but I don't think the present demise is about the players not caring.
From what I see and hear, most players are putting in a decent shift. The problem is not about attitude but confidence.
And that vital ingredient has its roots in theoff pitch culture which has been allowed to flourish from the executive
and through middle management.
Brendan Rodgers identified this twelve months ago in his remarks about staleness in the club and the observation
that some had been here too long.
Although this alluded to the playing and coaching staff, with hindsight I think he was describing a personal experience.
But his 'solution' was to ask for a clearout of others. He recognised the everpresent need for a team to be refreshed
with new faces. Even those at the very top of the PL practice this.
Because of financial mismanagent relating to FFP this was delayed.
Thus a gulf between the coaching side and the less visible financial side appeared.
Rodgers' displeasure with this and its signal that he was subject to unexpected limits and his perception that his'contract
of understanding' on arrival had been betrayed was visible from matchday one. He knew it was a struggle he was not going
to win. Yes, he then made all the right pro management noises but the seeds of doubt were sewn.
And his remarks had to be contradicted making the rift public. If anything it underlined the limitations of our status
in the game and the 'model of operation' designed to adjust to it.
So, what is to be done? to quote Lenin.
The status of the chap in the dugout as the fall guy has been demonstrated. And yet, no replacement is evident!
So the same faces are entrusted with saving us using the approach so obviously limited.
Little wonder the players have no confidence in the system. The new man whoever it is, will have to create a new environment
which offers a new alternative which enables the squad to regain their full potential. No small task given the
same faces will be pulling the strings.
Sometimes it is not solely the shortcomings of a playing squad which fails to be worthy of premier staus but the club itself...

Rodgers is responsible for the 'off the pitch' culture.

Rodgers is (being charitable) at least 50% responsible for the ffp issues. He spent all the money on players who have no resale value; and many players already here with resale value now have zero resale value (soyuncu, tielemans to name the two biggest)

Don’t forget someone posted on here a while ago his son has something to do with the agents that brought Vestergaard in from Southampton.

The other chap who had his son‘s interest at heart was Pearson and look how that turned out. It’s a disaster.
