Peps contempt for us nearly tripped him up.

Even dismissing the 2 halftime subs, has phillips ever come on so early in a game for them? Then adding palmer & gomez to the mix, that side that finished was a risk that would have been punished by nigh on every other side in this league.
We really should have taken a point in the end following peps changes.

I think it's down to us having a proper coach for a change, should've got a draw but I'm not not complaining, I don't care what Peps thinking.

Similar though to us beating a side starting with Steffen, Palmer and Edozie when we won the Community Shield and don't forget that result gave notebook wanker extra credit in the bank

Wasnt contempt it was a eye on Wednesday
He badly wants that European Cup on his C.V. but even he couldn't see how it affected his side with more luck we could have beaten them, badly wanted that second goal as they had lost it completely.

Have to disagree Kendal. Totally get your point on him having the CL on his mind & of course your right & he would have done a few things that he did yesterday against other opponents in the same scenario, however it was how far he went with the changes that was the difference.
I watch loads of football, as I’m sure you do (too much in all honesty) & I can’t remember pep being so comfortable in a game & having no concerns of what the opposition could possibly do to his team that he has taken haaland/ stones/rodri/& de bruyne off so early & replaced them with the likes of akanji/palmer/phillips& gomez.
He’d have bought on the likes of gundogan & ake for starters if he had the slightest of doubt in my mind.

Maddison and ItchyKnackers had enough chances didn't they!

Yesterday had two stonewalling...... but at least we were putting pressure on their backs, something that hasn't happened in a long while
