N'Diddi

Roofer
now the dust as settled.

Was once again absolutely useless, I'm not actually blaming him because hes being played in a position that he simple doesn't have the ability to play ion.

Hes been rubbish all season in that role but the last few months (since and before injury) hes been even worse !

Can you remember early season when he was missing the target constantly, Banjo/Barndoor scenario.

These are the things that prove to me that Maresca will never make a manager.

By the way, l think N'Diddi is a quality defensive midfielder.

Unlike Vardy, I can't see him signing a new contract. In which case we'll just have to bid a fond farewell to a player who was immense for us once and has always tried his best, but is no longer what we need. He deserves a good send-off.

I am not convinced that Ndidi still has the attributes to be the quality defensive midfielder he was since his initial big injury. Whereas he was always milliseconds quicker than the oppo before which allowed him to get there first and carry the ball before giving an easy pass, everything since has said milliseconds slower. I also don't think he has the attributes to play the role he has been playing this season in the Premier League (he barely has for this league).

However, I continue to believe that we have a better shape generally than when he is not playing and therefore Maresca is generally correct to continue to play him where he is playing. What has been more questionable I think is some of the choices of when he swaps sides with Dewsbury-Hall. The decision to start a recent game with them swapped I certainly didn't get.

This is spot on. For at least a couple of seasons, he was absolutely immense in this role - 'thou shalt not pass' was his motto.

Had we signed a central midfielder in January, before we realised we'd spunked all the cash on Daka, Soumare, Bertrand, Vestegaard, Kristiansen, Soutter, I'm not sure N'didi would have played all that much.

The Fireman cost us around £15 million many years ago
He has been tremendous over the years but has struggled recently
However in the last week he has scored two goals that should propel the club to promotion
He is probably leaving in a few weeks and must be difficult for him to get revved up
Certain players last year checked out months before the season end
Sorry to see him go but good luck Wilf 👍

The ultimately unsuccessful pursuit of Sensi in January was surely a tacit recognition that we lack quality in that area...

Fireman?

Yes, Fireman Wilf. It’s years now, but I can still remember my kids singing along with the theme tune.

‘When he hears that whistle blow, Fireman Wilf is ready to go.
A bit slower than before, but he can sometimes still score. Fireman Wilf!
He will be the hero once more when we stuff the Red Filth!
Fireman Wilf!.’

Wilf will probably be a class defensive midfielder in a foreign league but is now not quick enough for the prem. Thanks for everything Wilf I hope you do well if not in the Prem
