When my team, Leicester City, win a game it makes me happy. Whatever else is happening, it cheers me up.
I love my team, and it’s a great team…. It has everything, young rising stars, Wiley old pros, world class gifted players, and workmanlike players, it’s a great squad, and on their day they can beat anyone, I think they’re better than Manchester United and Arsenal for that matter. I think 8th is the very least they deserve, they also deserved better than the new third tier of European competition, I genuinely believe this squad are good enough for higher levels.
So why haven’t they achieved??? Because they don’t have that man to install that belief, confidence and mettle to get them over the line….. there’s nobody reaching into their souls to allow them to find that extra energy, to give that 110% when the chips are down. Instead they have a coaches’ voice telling them the opposite, telling them that it’s the opposition who are world class, and who can’t find a way to coach them into successful defence of a corner ball so that each time they concede another, it’s yet another punch in the guts for them. I love these players, this squad, and applaud them for their brilliant efforts despite the lack of an elite manager that knows how to motivate. Well done my team.
My error
…was to tune in to Radio Leicester on my way home and hear the bare-faced lies from the Leicester City manager as he addressed the microphone…
“The players have been criticised all season which I think is really unfair…..”
No they haven’t
The media and fans’ criticism ‘all season’ has been;
- inability to defend set pieces (down to the coach)
- inability to see out a winning position (game management, down to the coach)
- injury prone players and apparent fielding of players not fully recovered (down to the coach)
Apart from occasional moans about one or two individuals (from fans, not noticed any media), the players have NOT “been criticised all season” like he’s stated.
I dislike lies, especially when it’s snide, disguised and from an individual responsible for a lot of professionals’ progression in their sport.
My team, brilliant
My error, tuning in to the liar
