What happened to the fruit and veg seller last night, anything to do with the BBC boss resigning?

The fruit and veg seller ws replaed by a lettuce licker then?

There are many, many examples, but for speed before I tuck into my brekkie, consider your average Radio 3 presenter? Regional accents, even the odd Irish. But all of them use and pronounce the whole alphabet, and know how to say the words they choose to use. As a result they sound authoritative and credible, and you get a real sense that their clarity of expression reflects clarity of thought.
It's not about RP or living in the past – of course language evolves, otherwise we'd all be speaking like Shakespear wrote. But I just think it's important to maintain some sort of standards, and use them to filter the appointment of people like TV sport pundits, newsreaders, voiceover people, etc.
Rant over. :)

Agree. But we are in an age where failure, shoddiness, ‘celebrity’, slang, inappropriateness etc…… are all celebrated as ‘cool’. It’s everywhere… BBC among the worst offenders
