The Tories have had 12 years to do something about immigration and change benefits and housing policies. Any idea why they haven't, apart from headline making, crackpot, expensive ideas like deporting people to Rwanda?

Are you really so insular that you can't see the drain on society? You were the one complaining about the immigrants coming in, then you applaud the legal profession for obstructing their return
No doubt there are many genuine cases and many are not but can you imagine the outcry if we "changed the benefits" and allowed these people to starve to death
Lots of people are making lots of money exploiting legal loop holes (not just in immigration cases) That doesn't make it morally right

Wake up and do your homework . UN troops are the peace keeping force used world wide. In every police station in America there are two sets of uniforms and two changing rooms ,one contains the police uniform and one contains a UN uniform.
Whereas here we are going to have two sets of soldiers to save the bother of them having to remember which uniform to wear?
The labelling from the likes of Raab & Patel is interesting - "lefty lawyers" as opposed to people just doing their job. "Righty lawyers" never get it in the neck...

The lawyers are just doing their job. I'm sure you'd expect one to do their job if you were ever arrested for any reason, even a lefty one.

The point remains: lawyers can only work to the law. Law makers make the laws. If the law has been stopping deportation then change the law.
If 12 years and an 80 seat majority is not enough then I genuinely don't know what is.

Err, you implied that “lefty lawyers” were using “loopholes” in the law so they are not deported. Nothing to do with what’s legally (or morally right)
I do find it strange that the “right wing” thinkers in general, (for want of a better description) blame immigration and immigrants (legal or otherwise) on the demise of the British way of life as we knew it and the costs attached to it. But are quite happy to bash the unions, you know, our forefathers who fought for weekends, the 37.5 hour week. Holidays. Proper rest time and days for workers to relax and enjoy their leisure time and families. Shift working and the extension of the working life has played no part in the demise of social clubs etc I suppose, grandparents could babysit for there grandkids but they can’t now because instead of being retired the poor sods are on earlies tomorrow or working weekends as part of their normal routine. You are either silent or make excuses for the real money drainers on society. The tax evaders and avoiders. Money that goes out of the country rather than being spent within communities to keep the local wheels turning.
