Keith Weller

I don’t even have a Facebook account and I can see it perfectly.

What a goal. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that.

I was in the orange seats Filbert St end. What a view for this 8 year old.
I drew the goal in my ‘what I did at the weekend’ book at primary school. And re-enacted it at every opportunity for about 38 years.

Fell in love with Weller that day and still am . Was in Pop. stand directly behind . Thanks for posting 👍

l might be in that early closer up shot just before the corner was taken, can’t tell- but one hell of a goal. Only seems like a couple of weeks ago- not 45 years!

I was in the Lower 6th at Gosforth High School, about 5 miles from Newcastle, when Keith did this. Bought me bragging rights for months. I think it ended up as the BBC's Goal of the Season. Even if it didn't, still a brilliant goal by a true City Great.

What a player.
Delivered some great moments but for me the hat trick against Liverpool was special. Included a similar volley from a corner if my memory is correct.

Bloomfield’s Boys played the game the way it should be played. From the Maracana to Maccabi Haifa, everyone was agreed on that.

Should have been sat in the DD but my old man wouldn’t take me as I’d done something wrong.

I saw Weller score a cracker at Blackburn in 1978, Wallace era. We were losing and Peter Welsh came on and played brilliantly and set up KW for our equaliser, I remember the City fans going mental. We wore all red.

I was in the Mainstand Enclosure, Filbert Street end of the tunnel. cracking corner by Brian Alderson too
