Brilliant, I went to that game, the McLintock year! I think we won one nil, played Walsall in the next round, one of the worst grounds I’ve been to and also one of the worst performances I’d ever seen up to then by a City team! sadly I’ve seen a few since🤦🏻‍♂️

George Armstrong scored

Wainfleet and Clayton Bros coaches which I converted from 2 National Express ones. Police hoss has just eaten 'Baldy Russ's wig and had a shit. The backdrop is rubbish, I can't find a decent period photo

Another absolute classic. In an era when everything in football is disposable, or judged largely by its price, or by how much attention it generates online, you single-handedly fly the flag for the precious nooks and crannies of social history and popular culture that the game is doing its very utmost to shed. Even now, there can’t be anyone else in the UK that does the kind of things that you make, do and write. Modern football is indeed truly shit. Keep on reminding us Mick of that time when it wasn’t.

Micky I went to school on a Clayton Bros coach. On occasions it was driven by a real Clayton. I look out for them when I am back in Leicester but haven't seen one for ages. Are they still going ? Or crushed beneath the behemoth that is Ausden Clark?

I sometimes sneaked on a Clayton's to Bosworth College, my actual bus GH Watts were always late.

I don't think Clayton's are running now, As I was planning this model I just scanned through the web to see If I could find a couple of Duple Dominant coaches, I'm a 'model pedant', Has to be correct era and stuff. Clayton's was a name that was seen at City matches in the seventies. Wainfleet was my mode of away transport for all my away games, apart from one, Harlow in a mini, I've still got my three-quarter completed obituary that I wrote on the way.

Any names ? I recall a number of people in my sister's era, and the street I was born on had quite a few from that time
Tim Spencer, Wayne Lovell, Bob summat, forgotten his name, he used to run a rock club in Town, was it the Electric Circus?

I suppose it was a long shot as I am not familiar with those names.
I do know that Steven Quinney, Kevin Arnold, Darren Hutchinson, Paul Whitehouse, Chris Driver, Paul Winkless, Steven Danson were a few in my local area that were there around that time.

Brilliant work Micky.
I think that day was Zoonies first bus. The one in the background maybe?
I was on it, the OB was directing us away from the town centre as half a dozen of us jumped of and went for a booze. Kicked off in the ground with Monsell and Loughborough.
