Because I am becoming increasingly apathetic to modern football.

UCL pants revamp.
VAR.
FA making rules up as they go along.
EFL trying to implement rules that do not exist.
EFL registration ban.
Spurs abolishing OAP ST discounts.
That caaaant Bohly wanting to charge foreign tourisits extra to see a game.
STs on phones.
Fines or penalties for passing STs or away match tix on.
World cup in 3 continents.
Everyone in football treating fans with utter contempt!
Rudkin still in a job!
Total mismanagement of squad assets.

It'll finish a lot off if we go into next season on minus points.
Just what else is there to love about the beautiful game?!

Seeing teams like Luton getting promoted after all they have been through. Bournemouth paying for travel for Luton fans. Also don't forget the last 10 years we have had. League win, FA cup win, European nights and winning in Europe. Still a lot to like in modern football. Plus Premier league is set to have a exciting finish, like the championship this season.

Fairy tales like ours have as much chance of happening in the future as Netanyahu and Putin sharing the Nobel peace prize.
Some of the stuff you’ve put on there Nagerz is spot on and the defining reason is greed and power.
I stupidly thought when Infantino replaced Blatter, things at FIFA would get better. How can anything be worse on the WC stage than a WC being given to a totally corrupt state like Russia and an equally corrupt one in Qatar who had zero WC history. But they have. As you say 2030 in 6 countries and 3 continents and even worse in 2034 in bloody Saudi. FFS.
The way the game now is refereed is a joke. 4 mins and 20+ slo mo’s to work out whether the ball hit an exact part of a players arm resulting in a pen or not. Daft thing is it makes in 95% of cases not a jot of difference as to whether a goal would have been scored or not.
100’s of totally useless and mostly thick as mince people making millions out of the game at our expense. Managers getting sacked time and again yet being rehired elsewhere earning them even more millions. Totally average players who can’t even trap a ball earning millions on just a 4 year PL contract at a bang average club and then blowing a load down the bookies as they’re bored! Agents!! FFS. DOF! Rudkin! Pundits. Savage, Sutton, Carrierbag etc.
I’m in my 58th year of supporting us. I’m glad and always will be that we’re not one of the BCC’s. We’ve achieved what 87 other clubs haven’t in the last few years. Let’s see what happens to us. It’s going to be interesting. But there are two things for certain which I hope for in the future. We can still be in the PL and survive, have a few cup runs and generally pull off the odd win against a BCC. Like most of the PL.
My other hope is Spurs never ever win anything. THE most deluded twats you’ll ever meet in our game.

Agree with the above 3 posts but on a personal note would like to add...
Matchdays, these days, are the only time I have a few beers & do a few different pubs with mates who I have known for decades & do not want that to ever change (health allowing)
Been doing it for years so not going to stop now, not a day goes by when I'm not thinking of the next game/awayday out.
On top of this, amongst the current negativity & despair we are still a very good team in our division & I feel we will go back up, winning more than we are losing. The absence of VAR this (only) season also a huge plus.

Can not get positive about, maybe doing the play offs
At 75 years old it becomes the travel, parking clambering up the steps to row z a ball ache

We’re just getting old lads and we’ve been a little bit spoilt of late compared to previous decades so it’s easy to decide now is the time to settle for what we’ve achieved and put our feet up happy in the knowledge that we’ve witnessed amazing feats that very few fans of our ilk and status will ever do in generations let alone a lifetime (takes a breath)
However, I for one will carry on until my dying breath or whenever the money runs out, whichever comes first 👊🤨😘

You forgot watching LCFC throw it all down the shitter by not binning Rodgers and now paying the price. So take two years off that ten for a start.

Agree about match days. These days it's more than just the football. It's about spending time with your mates, having a few days. No matter how bad football becomes they can't take that away.

I said that until arthur itis came along and he's a pain everywhere but the arse sad man now watching from my armchair

I watch, but I couldn't give a fuck anymore. Most of our fans are an embarrassment and too eager to bitch about the club and its owners. If we win it's good, if we lose I don't really care. You say it's age, but I think the passion has gone out of the game in general, just sanitised bollocks now. MOTD is unwatchable and most of the coverage is so woke I can't be arsed to listen.

Why we sanitised a brilliant game God only knows but l guess it's all down to MONEY and the relentless pursuit of more.
The kick and rush l knew as a lad was turned on its head by the Magyars since then successive people have put the marks down and not often has it been good for the game
Commercialism has had a bigger input since the emergence of the Premier League and more often than not dictates to the Leaders of Governing bodies with its wealth therein lies the problem
I loved my football but now it's more like a
Joke, players theatricals, VAR, dumming down of excitement, the list goes on

That's the my whole point commerce taking a sport away from its supporters they couldn't give a shit so long as advertising profits keep going up

It’s all about the dollar

They don’t want the common man down there ruining it for the Bams and tourists who shuffle through the club shop filling their baskets with cheap overpriced tat.

Indeed my friend, only those who have an eye and an interest in profit want a piece of it, the real people with a love for the game are slowly but surely turning apathetic about it and everything it entails, plenty of proof of that can be witnessed on here.

For the first time I’m seriously considering not renewing, I miss a fair few games through work and the club keep making it harder for my lad to use my ticket, the football authorities are corrupt as fuck, when football is now more corrupt than F1 there’s a serious problem, but with that said if we have broken the rules we deserve punishment, but the BCC’s constantly getting away with taking the piss while so-called smaller clubs get battered is more corrupt than VAR, kickoff times getting moved to accommodate TV with no consideration for the fans, the ridiculous number of gambling ads wether watching at a ground or on TV. The ridiculously overpriced everything at the club whether that be merchandise or a pint, the over zealous stewarding, and the prospect of mobile phone ticketing only. The passion is being sucked out of the game in favour of sanitised bullshit. I’m not that arsed these days when we lose unlike I used to be and the elation of a win evaporates far quicker now. We’ve become customers to the club and the football authorities, and if that’s how I’m viewed I’ll take my custom elsewhere and find something else to spend that money on.

Commerce has one friend money Players especially in the Prem have only one friend
Money and that's the whole sad story of football
Allied to this is the sad Football Association ideas of the game killing off the sheer excitement that once enveloped our game
It's now fucking wet nappy time change for change sake the enjoyment slowly being sucked out to me it's effeminate football
Playing falling all over the place for absolutely fuck all and whistle happy refs
Blowing at the slightest of touches l had my fill of it all never in my life did l think this game could get lower than a snakes belly but it's here the whole sad theatrical scene of a non contact sport
I su ppose the point lm trying to make is
The Magics gone
