From foxes talk

With the squad we had when he arrived compared to opposition teams, 5th should have been reasonably expected and there's always quite a bit of fortune in winning a one of cup competition for anyone. What you see on paper doesn't always tell the full story.

As for this myth of expenditure, it's the overall expenditure that counts not the net spend, it's called success and progression because of previous good stewardship in the transfer market. That progression started to decline under Rodgers and Congerton, they have both got previous for it. Neither have any redeeming features and under Rodgers coaching and tactics, our squad of players have declined to a shadow of their form selves, even new players seem to catch the infection pretty quickly. Blind faith in shake foundations with lead to the eventual ruination of the club.

Net spend doesn’t count?
Selling your best players and replacing them with numerous cheaper players is just as good as keeping your best players and adding others?

Not sure about that.
