For those that don't rate Daka

Red Bull Salzburg - played 125 - scored or assisted 95 - effective rate of 76%

Red bull Salzburg U19 - played 2 - scored 2 - effective rate of 100%

FC Liefering - played 27 - scored or assisted 13 - effective rate of 48%

Leicester City - played 37 - scored or assisted 15 - effective rate of 40%

Taking into account the climb up in standard of defenders week in and week out…..I’d say we’ve got a hell of a player here. Have some faith.

Yet another player that has been mismanaged by our Elite Manager I'm afraid

This season was always going to be a season of transition. JV is nearing the end of career -he is 35. The challenge (and it is a massive challenge) is to evolve into a new system. Rodgers is patently failing to do that. He has no plan for a post Vardy LCFC

Jamie Vardy's first season in the Premier league, played 34 scored 5.
Patson Daka's first season in the premier league (so far) played 22 scored 5.

He needs time to adapt as Vardy did but I think he will come good.

He’s also scored 6 in 10 Euro appearances. Considering that a lot of his appearances are from the bench or playing as a lone striker I think he’s done ok.
Ollie Watkins at Villa has scored just 10/37 games this season and is rated at £50m!

Daka is a Premier player in waiting. He has all the basic qualities and only remains to demonstrate that he is tough enough to live in this league.
He has had to be used a bit more than probably was planned but this will only add to his development.

I have not lost faith in him yet, first season is always hit and miss. Seems a nice lad, this year year will have been an education and to judge him against Vardy is unfair, Vardy is very special and will be forever a club legend. Next year he will be fitter and faster.

I'm not judging him against Vardy as such I was just trying to show that your first season in the Premier league is tough and I think he's doing better than expected so far.

l think managed correctly that we'll have a good replacement for Vardy. Hes very similar but Vardy was and probably still is, world class. I also thought that centre forward who went to Russia had the makings of a decent player, forgot his name right now. ! the one who scored v Barcelona in Stockholm.

Musa

Must admit I thought Vardy looked like a pub player when he first arrived.
But I'm just a pissed up cockney twat.

Predicted Vardy would be a star the day he netted in the 1-0 win over QPR - the game with Nugent chasing the squirrel !
Also said Praet and Gray would become legends too!

I hope you are right about Daka. I do agree with a couple of posters that he hasn't got that edge (hopefully soon) I've watched Rangers a few times this season and his fellow countryman, Fashion Jr is IMO streets ahead of him.

Ever since I saw the late great Bobby Smith in his red leather trousers I’ve wanted us to sign someone called Fashion Jr.

Big difference is that Vardy's opportunity came at a time when it was now or never for him. He was determined to grasp his chance. The chasing down, the energy, the sheer desire to succeed, the finishing, it's hard to compare hardly anyone let alone Daka to our GOAT.
Daka is still young and as already played at a reasonable standard level since he was in his teens. Maybe Daka will come good, but there will only ever be one Jamie Vardy.

Daka has a much more difficult environment.

Remember, Jamie Vardy joined us in 2012, so he had two full seasons in the Championship with us before we got promoted, and even in his first Premier League season he only scored five goals!

It was only in his fourth (!!) season with us that he really became a menace and a star.

Compare that to Daka who is being dropped in at deep end. So far he's doing alright IMHO. We'll see if there is an improvement next season.

I think Daka will come good not playing to his strengths.
Reminds me of Vardy playing for England nobody wants to pass to him
